Shankar’s secret plans

It seems Shankar has learnt a lesson or two from the leak of ‘Jaggubhai’ on the net. The filmmaker, who had already tasted the bitterness of piracy when a couple of songs from ‘Sivaji’ made their way to the web, has now decided to implement some strict measures on his production ventures.
If sources are to be believed, the final print of 'Rettai Suzhi', whose shoot was completed a month ago, has been kept in a confidential place. And plans are on to perform post production works outside Tamil Nadu, or if possible outside India, to prevent any leakage.
The director-producer, who is currently busy with the shoot of his magnum opus ‘Endhiran’, starring Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in lead roles, would take a final decision on ‘Rettai Suzhi’ post production works soon, sources say.
Directed by Thamira, the film has veteran directors K Balachandar and Bharathiraja in lead roles. The tile has now been changed to ‘Imayamum Sigaramum Irattaisuzhi’, reflecting the sobriquets of the ace filmmakers.

மீடியாவின் ஒட்டுமொத்த அட்ராக்ஷன் இப்போ சௌந்தர்யா ரஜினி தான். சினிமாவில் மட்டுமல்ல, நிஜத்திலும் காதலுக்கு கௌரவம் சேர்ப்பவர் தான் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார். இருவீட்டாரும் கலந்து பேசி வரும் பிப்ரவரி மாதம் 17 ஆம் தேதி நிச்சயத்திற்கு நாள் குறித்துவிட்டார்கள்.

உங்கள் குடும்பத்துடன் நீங்கள் காரில் போய்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, அருகே சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் கார் கடந்து சென்றால் உங்களுக்கு எப்படி இருக்கும்? அப்படி ஒரு அனுபவம் சமீபத்தில் ஏற்பட்டது நம் ரசிகர் ஒருவருக்கு.
சென்னை நகரின் பிசியான போக்குவரத்தில் நீந்தியபடி நம் ரசிகர் ஒருவர் தன் குடும்பத்துடன் வேனில் வெளியூர் போய்கொண்டிருக்கிறார். வாகனம் தேனாம்பேட்டையை கடக்கையில் அவர்களை முந்தி சென்றது ஒரு TAVERA. ஏதோ ஒன்று நம் ரசிகருக்கு பொறி தட்ட - அந்த வாகனத்தை உற்று பார்க்கிறார். வாவ்…. ஆம்… சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் அந்த வேனில் !! சந்தோஷம் பிடிபடவில்லை அந்த ரசிகருக்கு. அந்த வேனை ஒட்டி சீக்கிரம் செல்லும்படி டிரைவரை கேட்டுக்கொள்ள, அவரும் அவ்வாறே லாவகமாக ஓட்டுகிறார். கடைசீயில் சைதாபேட்டை சிக்னல் அருகே சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் வாகனத்திற்கு அருகே இவர்கள் வாகனம் நிற்க, நம் ரசிகரின் குடும்பத்திற்கு, “அதோ பாருங்க… தலைவரை…” என்று உள்ளே புத்தகம் எதையோ படித்துக்கொண்டிருந்த சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரை காட்ட, இவர்கள் உற்சாகத்தில், “ஐ… ரஜினி உட்கார்ந்திருக்காரு பாருங்க….” என்று கூக்குரலிட, இவர்களை ஒரு கணம் பார்த்த சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் சிரித்தபடி உடனே இருகரங்களையும் தூக்கி வணக்கம் வைக்க, இவர்களின் உற்சாக கூக்குரல் அதிகமானது. இதற்குள் சிக்னலில் க்ரீன் விழ, அருகிலிருந்த மற்ற வாகனத்தினர் என்ன நடக்கிறது என்று யூகிக்கும் முன்னர், சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் வாகனம் வேகமெடுத்து போக்குவரத்தில் மறைந்தது.

STRIKER TAKES ON RAJINI!

The box office will witness a peculiar war of sorts next week. An unassuming flick, titled Striker directed by Chandan Arora, starring Boys Siddharth is releasing on February 5, 2010. On the same day, the dubbed Hindi version of Rajini’s blockbuster Sivaji is being released too. So it’s Rajini versus Siddharth at the turnstiles.Striker is a sports movie about a carom fanatic hero, portrayed by Siddharth. Interestingly, Aamir Khan, who watched the movie recently congratulated Sid on his performance predicting that the movie will become an instant hit.

RAJINI AND KAMAL AT JAGGUBHAI PREMIERE

The Jaggubhai premiere show for the film fraternity was held at Satyam Theatre in Chennai on January 27th, 2010. And as mentioned by Sarathkumar earlier, a 'hundi' was placed at the venue to facilitate the stars to contribute to the Chief Minister’s relief fund.Superstar Rajinikanth, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, KS Ravi Kumar, Rama Narayanan, Trisha, Shriya, Simran, Radhika Sarath Kumar and a host of other film stars were also present to watch the show and contribute to the fund.Jaggubhai, which is produced by Raadan TV and UTV Motion Pictures, will hit the screens on January 29th, 2010. The film stars Sarath and Shriya in the lead roles.

RAJINI AND KAMAL WILL BE THERE

A grand function is being organized on February 6th, 2010 to honor the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for allocating land to the deserving film and small screen technicians, actors and producers. The event will be held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium. All the associations of the film and small screen industry including the Nadigar Sangam, FEFSI, Producers’ Council have joined together to felicitate the CM. A mega cultural event is also planned on the same day. Following this, the associations have requested the all the film directors and producers to cancel shootings that are scheduled to take place in locations outside the city. Veteran actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are also expected to grace the occasion.

Rajnikanth’s breathtaking train stunt sequence in ‘Endhiran’

Though Superstar Rajnikanth has been well known for his astounding action sequences in almost all his films. But ‘Murattu Kaalai’ has been considered as the best one in his entire career as the stunts were so naturalistic and outmatched every films.
But now director Shankar assures that Rajnikanth’s stunt sequences in ‘Endhiran’ will overshadow ‘Murattu Kaalai’ itself. Director Shankar had recently shot a stunt sequence across the moving train on a exotic hill station. Usually, such sequences are canned across Ooty train passages, but this time the filmmaker has opted for Konkan Railways and felt more difficult to obtain permission from Central Railways Department.
Finally, after affording big sum, the crew could somehow make it happen and the stunt shots have been brilliantly performed by Rajnikanth. This will be one of the best highlighting features in this film.

முன்பு சிவாஜி படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்புக் காட்சிகள், பாடல்கள் அனைத்தும் படம் வருவதற்கு சில மாதங்களுக்கு முன்பே ஆன்லைனில் லீக்காகி பரபரப்பேற்படுத்தின. தரம் மோசமாக இருந்தாலும், முன் கூட்டிய படத்தின் பாடல்களை தெரிந்து கொள்வதில் உள்ள த்ரில் காரணமாக பலரும் இவற்றை டவுன்லோடு செய்து வந்தனர்.

இந் நிலையில் இப்போது மீண்டும் ரஜினியின் எந்திரன் பட பரபரப்பு ஆரம்பித்துள்ளது. முதலில் பெருவில் எடுக்கப்பட்ட எந்திரன் படப்பிடிப்பு காட்சிகளின் வீடியோவை உலாவிட்டவர்கள், இப்போது, அதன் ஆடியோ என்று ஒரு பாடலை லீக் செய்துள்ளனர்.‘என் உயிரிடம் ஒரு கேள்வியைக் கேட்டேன்…’ என்று ஆரம்பிக்கும் இந்தப் பாடல் 3.16 நிமிடங்கள் ஒலிக்கிறது.

Endhiran Story Revealed

Robots have been a thing of Hollywood films for long. Among the films which had Robots as central characters Steven Spielberg’s Artificial Intelligence is considered the best by World Science-fiction Forum. But director Shankar confidently says once his super star Endhiran is released even that will join the club of best films with Robots.
So what is the story of Endhiran? People who have been following each and every moment of the film’s progress have put together all the pieces and made a story. It is this.
Rajni plays dual roles in Endhiran. One is a scientist and the other is a Robot. Scientist Rajni creates a Robot with artificial intelligence – like that of sixth sense in humans – to help human beings and to the development of the country. But its silicon heart falls in love with Aishwarya Rai. Writes romantic poems and the Robot behave just like a human being. Knowing about the extra ordinary intelligence of the Robot the villains try to get control of the Robot. Scientist Rajni fights to save the Robot falling into the hand of the enemies and destroys the evil forces using the Robot itself.

Enthiran Audio Release On April 2010

As the D- day is nearing we have more on Endhiran coming out. Now it is about the theme music. AR Rahman who is working on Endhiran songs from London has completed the theme music first at the behest of director Shankar. The theme music comes where ever the Robot Rajni appears. Shankar will plan and film the visual sequences based on the music. The story boards for the sequences are being readied at a frantic pace by the team of Shankar.Apart from its music Endhiran is also is special for its choreography by Prabhu Deva, lyrics by Vairamuthu, art direction by Sabu Cyril and cinematography by Ratnavelu. Another specialty will be the exclusive sound effects crafted by the Oscar winner Resul Pookutty. Pookutty creates the unique metallic sound effects for the Robot charcter.Other than the Endhiran team there is one more person who very closely following Endhiran developments right from its scratch. That is the chief minister M. Karunanidhi. He had already enquired about the release date to Rajnikanth many times.With plans perfect Shankar has allotted six months only for the graphics, animation and other special effects. So the release may be pushed little further than previously expected. Our sources tell us the music will rock in April and the film is a Diwali pleasure.

Soundarya Rajinikanth speaks about her marriage

Rajini's second daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth isgetting ready for marriage and the betrothel will be held on 17th Feb 2010.
HosurOnline approached Soundarya to detail more on the events that lead to the marriage of her with Aswin.
After initial hesitations, she agreed to speak to the senior reporter Mr. Richard of HosurOnline and here below are the details:
HosurOnline: Why its Aswin?
Soundarya: Aswin's family and mine are close friends. My father liked the family of Aswin and hence he decided for the marriage.
HosurOnline: Is Aswin your childhood day friend?
Soundarya: No, I met Aswin only a year ago. We became friends after that.
HosurOnline: You said, both of your families are friends, then how come you met Aswin only a year ago?
Soundarya: What you guess is right! Its me, who introduced Aswin's family to my parents.
HosurOnline: Then, is this a love marriage?
Soundarya: Partially Yes and Partially No. Even though I liked Aswin, its my parents who arranged for this marriage.
HosurOnline: After marriage, will you live in Chennai or prefer to move to someother country?
Soundarya: We will live in Chennai.
HosurOnline: It is said that the financial trouble between you and your friend and the news that came in news channels made the announcement of yourmarriage too quick by your father. Is that true?

Not a youth anymore after Endhiran?

We must have learnt that Rajini is donning the role of a Scientist in Shankar’s ‘Endhiran’, but actually we will get to see a never-seen-before, young and smart Rajini. Shankar who made Superstar as fair as a European is working on boosting the youth factors of our Superstar in ‘Endhiran’.
But, it’s the last time that we will enjoy it all…
As Rajini has decided to take up roles that will suit his real age after the release of ‘Endhiran’, he wanted to be showed as young and smart as possible. So, he had asked Shankar to pay extra attention towards his looks. And only after this, Shankar has modified his character as a scientist student.
We might have been shocked by Rajini’s unexpected choice of doing roles that suits his age; however, his close friends say that it’s been a long since our Superstar had decided this. Looks like he had shared the same with his buddy Amitabh Bachchan, while he was working for ‘Endhiran’ in Lonawala.

'AO' isn't like a Hollywood film: Rajini

"Aayirathil Oruvan is not like a Hollywood film. But it is out and out a Hollywood film, made in accordance with the Hollywood standards", said Superstar Rajinikanth, after watching the movie at a special screening recently.
The top actor is all praise for Karthi, the protagonist of the film. "Karthi has proved himself in his debut movie 'Paruthiveeran' itself. He has repeated the magic in 'Aayirathil Oruvan' too. Hats off to him."
Rajini added: "Tamil film industry should make sure that Karthi's talent is utilised well. My congratulations to director Selvaraghavan and producer R Raveendran for coming out with such a quality product."
Meanwhile, about 20 minutes of the movie has been trimmed to honour the reaction of film-buffs and critics. Attempts are also being made to get a U/A certificate from the Censor Board to reach large number of the audience.

Shankar pens on ‘Endhiran’

Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Endhiran’, is going to be a visually wowee and technically super rich film. Get ready for an ultra-technical film that will be simply spellbinding. Yes, what do you say about a film, which some renowned technicians of the world-famous Stan Winston Studios have called as a movie that has made maximum use of the animatronics technique? Director Shankar, in his blog, recently stated that the film makes use of the aforementioned technique and that its use is effective in Endhiran. "Endhiran is the first Indian movie to use Stan Winston Studio’s Animatronics technology. We all are proud and happy to be associated with the number one Hollywood studio who did a great job in movies like Jurassic Park, Predator, Terminator, Ironman and the recent Avatar," Shankar wrote in his blog. Around 22 scenes of the movie have been shot using the technique. It reportedly took 30 months of planning and conceptualisation for a group of technicians, who came to Chennai's Sun Stuios to work for a period of 4 months to execute it. Gasp! In his blog, Shankar has even put some of the exclusive pics where we see him with the Hollywood technicians, Rajini and others.

There was a special screening of Selvaraghavan’s Aayirathil Oruvan for superstar Rajinikanth at AVM preview theatre on Friday (Jan 15) evening.
Those who attended the screening and welcomed Rajini included producer R Raveendran, hero of the film Karthi and guest Arya.
Selvaraghavan who was not present at the venue later caught up with Rajinikant and they discussed the finer points of the film with him.

ஜூலை 2008 ஆம் ஆண்டு, நானும் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினியும், எந்திரன் குழுவினரும் ஸ்டான்வின்ஸ்டன் ஸ்டூடியோவிற்கு ஸ்கேனிங், மேக்கப் டெஸ்ட் மற்றும் படத்தின் Pre-Production பணிகளுக்காக சென்றிருந்தோம். இதற்காக சில வாரங்கள்அங்கு செலவிட்டோம். ஸ்பீல்பெர்க், ஜேம்ஸ் கேமரூன், அர்னால்ட் போன்றோர் பணிபுரிந்த ஸ்டூடியோவில் நாமும் பணிபுரிவது எங்களுக்கு உண்மையில் மிகப் பெறும் பெருமை.
ஒன்றரை வருடங்களாக நடந்த பயிற்சிக்கு பிறகு, ஸ்டான்வின்ஸ்டன் ஸ்டூடியோவில் இருந்து இங்கு சன் ஸ்டூடியோஸ் செட்டுக்கு வந்து கிட்ட தட்ட நான்கு மாதங்கள் பணிபுரிந்தனர். எந்திரன் படத்தின் கிட்டத்தட்ட 22 காட்சிகள் இந்த அனிமேட்ரானிக்ஸ் தொழில் நுட்பத்தை பயன்படுத்தி சூட் செய்யப்பட்டது. இதற்காக சூப்பர் ஸ்டாருக்கு விஷேஷ மேக்கப் போடப்பட்டது. பெருமபாலான காட்சிகள் ரஜினி சாரை வைத்து ரியல்லாக ஷூட் செய்தோம். காட்சிகள் தத்ரூபமாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என்பதற்காக இந்த காட்சிகளில் கிராபிக்ஸை பயன்படுத்தாது இந்த அனிமேட்ரானிக்ஸ் தொழில் நுட்பத்தை பயன்படுத்தினோம்.
முடிவில், ஸ்டான்வின்ஸ்டன் ஸ்டூடியோ ஊழியர்கள், அசந்து போய் “அனிமேட்ரானிக்ஸ் தொழில் நுட்பத்தை மிக சரியாக, அநேக இடங்களில் பயன்படுத்தியிருக்கிறீர்கள்” என்று எங்களுக்கு பாராட்டு தெரிவித்தீர்கள். ஹாலிவுட்டில் கூட இது அரிது.

Most of you have asked about Stanwinston Studios role in Endhiran.
Yes. Endhiran is the first Indian movie to use Stanwinston Studio’s Animatronics technology. We all are proud and happy to be associated with No.1 Hollywood studio who did a great job in movies like Jurassic Park, Predator, Terminator, Ironman and the recent Avatar.
Myself, Rajini sir and our Technical crew have been at Los Angeles for couple of weeks at Stanwinston Studios for scanning, make-up test and preproduction works in July 2008. We all are excited that we are working at the place where Steven Spielberg, James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger have worked.
After 1½ half years of preparatory work a group of top technicians came to Sun Studio’s Chennai sets and worked around for 4 months. 22 scenes of Endhiran Movie have been shot using Animatronics and Special Make-ups. Most of Important scenes was shot lively with Rajini sir using Animatronics without CGI.
At the end of the day Stanwinston people told that they are very happy that Endhiran movie utilized maximum animatronics techniques in so many scenes in all possible ways, which is very rare in Hollywood too… Cool….

எந்திரன் படம் எப்பொழுது வரும் என்ற நமது பெரும்பாலானோரது ஏக்கத்திற்கு, கேள்விக்கு சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரே தமது சமீபத்திய கேரள பயணத்தின்போது பதிலளித்திருக்கிறார்.
எந்திரன் படத்தை விரைவாக முடிக்க வேண்டி, அதன் கிராபிக்ஸ் பணிகள் ஒன்றுக்கு மேற்ப்பட்ட இடங்களில் பிரித்தளிக்கப்பட்டு மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு வருகிறது. அவற்றில் ஒன்று சௌந்தர்யா ரஜினிகாந்தின் ஆக்கர் ஸ்டூடியோஸ். டைம்ஸ் ஆப் இந்தியாவுக்கு சமீபத்தில் அளித்துள்ள பேட்டியில் சௌந்தர்யா இதை கூறியுள்ளார்.
இந்நிலையில், கேரள மாநிலம் திருவனந்தபுரம் அருகே உள்ள கொழக்குட்டோம் Film and Video பார்க்கில் உள்ள, பிரசாத் லேப்பில் கூட எந்திரன் படத்திற்கான MOTION CAPTURING மற்றும் இதர கிராபிக்ஸ் பணிகள் நடந்து வருகின்றன.
இதில் பங்கேர்ப்பதர்காக திருவனந்தபுரம் செல்வதற்காக சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினி நேற்று முன்தினம் மாலை சென்னை விமான நிலையம் வந்தார். சிங்கார சென்னையின் போக்குவரத்து நெரிசலில் அவர் மாட்டிக்கொண்டு, சற்று தாமதமாக விமான நிலையம் சென்றார் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார். அதற்குள் அவர் பயணம் செய்யவிருந்த விமானத்தின் புறப்பாடு நேரம் நெருங்கிவிட்ட படியால் விமானத்தை தவறவிட்டார் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார். இதையடுத்து விமான நிலையமே பரபரப்படைந்தது. விமான நிலைய ஊழியர்கள் மூலம் விஷயம் ஊடகத்திற்கும் நாளிதழ்களுக்கும் தெரியவர, சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் விமனாத்தை தவறவிட்ட சம்பவம் தலைப்பு செய்தியானது. (மாலை சுடர் நாளிதழ் போஸ்டரில் மேற்ப்படி செய்தி இடம் பெற்றது. இது எப்படி இருக்கு?) ஆனால் சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரோ சிறிது அலட்டிக்கொள்ளாது, அடுத்த விமானத்தில் திருவனந்தபுரம் சென்றார் தலைவர்.
வெள்ளை சட்டையும் ஜீன்சும் அணிந்து தனியாளாக திருவனந்தபுரம் சென்று இறங்கிய ரஜினியை அடையாளம் கண்டுகொண்ட திருவனந்தபுர, விமான நிலைய ஊழியர்கள் ஏகப்பட்ட பேர், ஆர்வத்துடன் அவரை சுற்றி வளைத்து ஆட்டோகிராப் கேட்டபடி மொயத்துவிட்டனர். விமான நிலையத்தில் அவரை சூழ்ந்துகொண்டனர். அதனால் அங்கு பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது. அவர்களுக்கு ஆட்டோகிராப் போட்டுக் கொடுத்த ரஜினி, பின்னர் அவர்களுடன் போட்டோ எடுத்துக் கொண்டார். ரசிகர்களுடன் உற்சாகமாக பேசிய அவர், “நல்ல கதை, கதாபாத்திரம், இயக்குநர், தயாரிப்பாளர் கிடைத்தால் மலையாள படத்தில் நடிக்க தயாராக இருக்கிறேன். ‘எந்திரன்’ படம் ஜூலையில் ரிலீசாகும்” என்றார்.
கால் டாக்சியில் பயணம் செய்த சூப்பர் ஸ்டார்
சிறிது முகம் சுளிக்காது அனைவருக்கும் நிதானமாக ஆட்டோகிராப் போட்டு கொடுத்த தலைவர், பின்னர் அங்கிருந்து வாடகை கார் (CALL TAXI) மூலம் KINFRA PARK அமைந்திருக்கும் கொழக்குட்டோம் சென்றார். (தினத் தந்தி செய்தி இது). திருவனந்தபுரத்தில்ரிந்து சுமார் பத்து கி.மி. தொலைவில் உள்ள இந்த அதி நவீன தொழில்நுட்ப பூங்காவில் தான் பிரசாத் லேப் அமைந்துள்ளது.
‘எந்திரன்’ படத்தின் கிராபிக்ஸ் பணிகள், கின்ஃபிரா பிலிம் அண்ட் வீடியோ பார்க்கில் இயக்குநர் ஷங்கர் முன்னிலையில் கடந்த சில தினங்களாக நடந்து வருவது குறிப்படத்தக்கது. தற்போது மோஷன் கேப்சரிங் பணிகள் நடக்கிறது. ரஜினிகாந்தின் ஒவ்வொரு அசைவுகளையும் பல கேமராக்கள் மூலம் பதிவு செய்து, அனிமேஷன் காட்சிகளாக மாற்றப்பட்டன.
கின்ப்ராவிலும் ரசிகர்களின் அன்பு வெள்ளத்தில் சிக்கி தவித்தார் தலைவர். அங்கு பணிபுரியும் கம்ப்யூட்டர் வல்லுனர்கள் (Techies) ஏராளமானோருக்கு ஆட்டோகிராப் கேட்டு சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரை மொய்த்தனர். பலர் அவருடன் போட்டோ எடுத்துக்கொண்டனர்.

Rajni’s robot get ups uploaded illegally in websites

Shankar was secretly shooting the film Endhiran. Rajni has donned two roles in this film. One is of a scientist and other of a robot.
Shankar was very careful that these getups should not be leaked. He even engaged security men at shooting spots to prevent people taking photos in their cell phones. Most of the shooting of Endhiran took place in software companies. Only the scientist portions were shot in public.
Rajni’s getups including the robot getup were uploaded in the websites. The crew is shocked about this leak. Few months ago the song sequence featuring Rajni and Aishwarya Rai was shot in Peru. These stills also found their way to the net a few months ago.Shankar also conducted an enquiry regarding this. Endhiran stills are constantly being uploaded in the net in spite of severe vigilance.

Rajini releases ‘Goa’ music

At a time when everyone was expecting a grand audio launch function of ‘Goa’, since it is the maiden production venture of Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Ocher Studios, the film had its music launch in a simple way on Monday.
The music album of the movie was released by Superstar Rajinikanth at his residence in Chennai. The simple function was attended by the cast and crew of the film directed by Venkat Prabhu, besides officials from Sony Music.
Says Venkat Prabhu, “I feel proud that Goa’s audio was released by the Superstar. He is always there to encourage us right from the days of ‘Chennai 6000028’. He is hopeful that ‘Goa’ would become a super hit.”
On the film’s music, he says, “Yuvan always comes up with special tunes for my films. He has repeated the magic in ‘Goa’ too. All the songs have come out well. They would rock audio charts soon.”
