VTV Ganesh denies rumors on Rajini's health

If you read the news about Rajini's health on twitter possibly originated from VTV Ganesh's fake account, it is a spam. VTV Ganesh said that there was a fake account on his name created by anonymous users that was behind the rumors. Ganesh is also lodging a complaint with the cyber crime in this regard.

An official press release by the actor's representatives mentioned that he was very upset with the way his name was used and thanked the press for verifying the facts with him and his PR Agency on this episode. Ganesh is leaving for Malaysia to shoot for "Saraswathi Sabatham" with Jai.

''I immediately gave my consent for Kochadaiyaan''

Jackie Shroff, after his menacing presence in Aaranya Kaandam, will be seen next in Kochadaiyaan as the antagonist. He says that he immediately consented to do this film without any second thought as he was pleased with the solid team and the high technical scope in it.

He was also impressed with director Soundarya Ashwin and said that she has a flair for directing and making even challenging scenes easy for her actors.

Jackie has also worked on his Tamil diction for the movie and he rehearsed all his dialogs as they were a task to remember.

''Superstar Rajini retains the same warmth even now''

The bond between Superstar Rajini and his Kochadaiyaan co-star Jackie Shroff dates back to close to three decades and the latter said that even now Superstar has the same value system, warmth and humility.

Rajini had attended Jackie’s wedding in 1987 and the two have been in constant touch ever since. It was naturally an unforgettable experience for Jackie to work with Rajini again.

Jackie refused to divulge details about his role but shared that he felt like Spiderman on the sets as he had to wear a dress having a lot of points and wires as his performance had to be captured in 3D.

Rajinkanth and I are like 3D camera: Kamal Hassan

The friendship that two iconic stars of Tamil film industry, Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan, is well-know yet they have been asked about it time and again. The duo has often admitted that they are like siblings but good competitors.

In spite of being competitors, Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan never got into fights, like we see among Bollywood stars, nor they felt threatened, as they knew their strengths and weakness. They maintained a health competition and respected each other’s work. However, once again on a leading national news channel, Kamal Hassan, who is gearing up for the release of his prestigious multilingual project Vishwaroopam, was asked about his friendship with superstar Rajinikanth for which the Ulaganayagan said that they have thought to live in harmony but they are stiff competitors.

Kamal Hassan said, “What I say is that we have been thought to look in unison and we are like a 3D camera. We have been trained by K Balachander. Fortunately, we are very stiff competitors but have stayed brothers. It is because we carved out our own domains,”

What's next for Aishwarya R Dhanush?

After an impressive directorial debut with '3', Aishwarya R Dhanush is now apparently getting ready for her next venture, which she is expected to kickstart soon.

If sources are to be believed, the elder daughter of Superstar Rajinikanth might remake the recent Hindi hit 'Oh My God' in Tamil.

She was in Mumbai recently, where she met Akshay Kumar and reportedly discussed about the possibilities of remaking 'Oh My God'.

Aishwarya's maiden venture '3' had her husband, the National Award winning actor Dhanush, and Shruthi Haasan in lead roles. The 'Kolaveri' song from the movie went viral all over the world.

KS Ravikumar replaced in Kochadaiyaan

Even though the makers of Kochadaiyaan don’t want any sort of hype surrounding the movie and keeping any information about the news of the movie low, there always seems to be something cropping up every now and then.

This time around it looks like ace directot KS Ravikumar is to be relieved of his direction supervision duties due his busy schedule with his Hindi remake of Saamy starring Sanjay Dutt.

Director Maadesh who had worked with Vijay in ‘Madhurey’ could well take up the duties from KS Ravikumar who also incidentally has written the story, screenplay and dialogues for the film.

This animation film employs full use of the motion capture technology and has a plethora of stars to boast of in its cast apart from the musical score by A.R.Rahman.

Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiyaan to release by Pongal 2013

Rajinikanth’s upcoming 3d motional capturing technique animated film Kochadaiyaan is now pushed to Pongal 2013 for its release.

The film directed by Superstar’s daughter Soundarya Ashwin Rajinikanth, has the story penned by KS Ravikumar.

The film was initially believed to release on the 12th of December (12.12.12), also birthday of the Superstar. As there will be some delay in its post-production work, the release is getting postponed.

Murali Manohar said, “Currently, we are working on the post production, and depending on the progress, we will review and take a call on the release date in the next two weeks.”

The film is also expected to be released in English, Japanese, Spanish, French and Italian. Murali Manohar confirmed and said, “It’s customary for any international release to have dubbed versions in Spanish, French and Italian.”

For Kochadaiyaan, Rajini to speak Italian, Spanish too

The much-awaited Rajinikanth-starrer Kochadaiyaan (a 3D film) is to be dubbed in three foreign languages — Japanese, Italian and Spanish, besides English. It is being made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Betting big on the movie’s export potential, the producer, Media One Global Entertainment Ltd, approached Exim Bank and landed a Rs 20-crore loan. According to J. Murali Manohar, Director, Media One Global, the film’s post-production costs are very high as this stage involves several domestic and foreign technicians and the use of facilities in the US, the UK and Hong Kong.

The film, scheduled for release in mid-January 2013, is in the post-production stage. The rupee-dollar volatility has made the production cost of the film unpredictable.

“But I can say it will surpass Rs 125 crore,” he said. The company is in talks with a couple of other banks for another Rs 30-crore loan to complete the post-production work. Elaborating on the movie’s export potential, Manohar said the company may strike a Rs 25-crore deal for export of its Tamil version alone.

Factoring in its Spanish, Italian, Japanese and English versions, the overall business size should far exceed that of Enthiran, he said. Rajinikanth’s earlier film Enthiran (Robot) is said to have grossed a little over Rs 175 crore.

“We expect Kochadaiyaan to set new standards in the Indian film industry,” said Manohar. The rights for the movie’s music (scored by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman) were sold for close to Rs 7.5 crore to Sony Music ( Enthiran’s music rights were sold for Rs 7 crore).

The star cast of Kochadaiyaan, directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya R. Ashwin, includes Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Sarath Kumar, Shobana and Nassar. Rajiv Menon is the cinematographer.

T. C. A. Ranganathan, Chairman and Managing Director of Exim Bank, said the bank usually considers a movie’s export potential and the production house’s track record before granting a loan. The Bank is convinced of Kochadaiyaan’s export potential.

As per the agreement, the borrower has to pay back the money before the release of the film.

Overall, Exim Bank has film industry exposure of close to Rs 400 crore, and “the NPA is nil”, said Ranganathan.

'Kochadaiyaan' for Rajini b'day?

Soundarya R Ashwin, who is making her directorial debut with 'Kochadaiyaan', which has her father Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, is said to be working tirelessly towards one single agenda.

That is to release the movie on the Superstar's birthday on December 12, to make it as a perfect treat to millions of Rajini fans.

"The post production works are on in a hectic pace. Since the movie is being made using performance capturing technology, undivided attention is needed for event minute things," sources say.

It is expected that the audio launch function would take place soon. With A R Rahman scoring the music, the film has Deepika Padukone, Sarath Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Shobana, Nasser and Aadhi in crucial roles.

So if all goes well, Rajnikanth will be in the Tamil version of ‘OMG! Oh My God‘, while Akshay Kumar and Yardi will be on the producers’ board along with Prasad.

‘OMG! Oh My God‘ revolves around an atheist (Paresh Rawal) and how he drags Lord Krishna (Akshay Kumar) to court on a legal case.

How Rajini gave Shiva one of the happiest days in his life!

Shiva will be doing a remake of Rajini’s famous film, Thillu Mullu. Like the rest of the industry and Tamil film fans, Shiva is very excited about this project. Recently he got a chance to meet Rajini and as far as he is concerned it was a dream come true. He presented Rajini with a flower bouquet and spent some time talking to him.

Apparently Rajini spoke kind words of encouragement to him and also appreciated Shiva’s work in the film industry. He also wished him luck for the upcoming project. Shiva informed his fans that it was one of the happiest days in his life!

Song ‘n’ dance aplenty in Kochadaiyaan: Soundarya

Soundarya Rajinikanth has given an indepth television interview to CNN London. In the interview she opens up on her debut film as director Kochadaiyaan and speaks at length on her father superstar Rajinikanth’s role in the film. The 3D Motion capture technology based film has a huge buzz around it and is likely to release in December.

Soundarya, has revealed more about her pet project to CNN London, in a TV interview where she says, “I really want to immortalize my dad. I am recreating an actor who is so famous, whose mannerisms, body language and style of talking are all so deeply rooted in the audience’s minds. So I am not having characters with wings or tails or spitting fire. ( that are usually associated with 3D films).
Kochadaiyaan is a photo realistic performance capture film. I am very passionate about animation and this film is going to break the myth that animation is cartoon.”

Talking about Rajni’s character in the film being close to the way Rajni is in real life the budding young director says : “The character he plays in the film is someone I think people can look upto. He is into philosophy and is someone who lives it and not just preaches . My father in real life practices what he preaches. He has come a long way in life from being a bus conductor, coming to an unknown land where he didn’t know the language, to where he is today. He has lived what he has to say.”

The director agrees that though the film will be released across the globe in many languages including Japanese and has largely been shot in England as well, the essence of the film will be Indian. Soundarya explains in the interview : “The film is distinctly Indian in several ways, in terms of visuals, costumes, locations and song and dance sequences for which Indian films are famous. There is going to be lots of song and dance in Kochadaiyaan.”

Rajini's advice to Shatrughan Sinha

The relationship between Superstar Rajinikanth and Shatrughan Sinha is very special, that both consider each other as friend, philosopher and guide.

Rajini has always maintained that some of his 'style statements' were inspired from Shatrughan, while the latter too hardly missed out an opportunity to express his admiration towards the former.

Recently, the Bollywood star was unwell and was hospitalised. "Throughout his hospitalisation, Rajini was in constant touch with Shatrughan and showed keen interest in the improvement of his friend's health," say sources.

They add: "Rajini gave many valuable health tips to Shatrughan on how to bounce back to normalcy. Also, the Superstar is planning to go to Mumbai soon to meet his pal."

Shobana not starring with Rajinikanth in Kochadaiyaan!

Actress and danseuse Shobana, who is making her comeback to acting with Kochadaiyaan, has not shared a single scene together with Rajinikanth. She will be seen in a guest appearance in the upcoming multilingual movie.

She has herself confirmed the news to a leading daily. Shobana has claimed that she had played a leading role in Thalapathi, her first movie with the superstar, but in the upcoming movie where she has done a cameo in Kochadaiyaan, the danseuse-turned-actress does not even have a single scene with Rajini.
Talking about her role, Soundarya Ashwin, the director of Kochadaiyaan, earlier said that Shobana was the only choice for the role, as she wrote the character keeping the actress in mind. But she had refused to give further details about the character played by Shobana, who had also worked with Rajini in Siva.

Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiyaan is a mega-budget flick, which also features Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Sarath Kumar and others in the cast. It is a period film that is inspired by Pandya king Kochadaiyaan Ranadheeran and it is a fictional account of the ruler.
