Anything can happen with Rana in the future: Latha Rajini

Latha Rajinikanth spoke to a private satellite channel on her husband's birthday. Its official: Rajini to start 'Rana'

Saying that 'Sultan The Warrior', her dream project which has Rajini in the lead, has underwent a major overhaul, the owner of Ocher Studios adds: "KS Ravikumar has taken charge of story and dialogue departments. For the first time in India, we have used Performance Capture technology."

On 'Ra One', the Shahrukh Khan starrer in which Rajini has done a guest appearance, Soundarya says, "It will be a powerful cameo in which appa has played Chitti, a role he did in Enthiran. Shahrukh and others were so happy to have the Superstar on board. So was Rajini."

'Rana' announcement soon

Director KS Ravikumar has confirmed that the shooting of 'Rana', which came to a halt after Superstar Rajinikanth fell ill, will resume soon and he is in the process of making things ready for the shoot. "Rajini sir is perfectly alright now and I am thrilled to work with him," he says.

The director, who had earlier given blockbusters 'Muthu' and 'Padayappa' with Rajini, says, "Work for Rana is on in full swing and give us a week's time, we will come out with an announcement on the shooting schedule. We are now finalising who will be part of the project and who is not."

Produced by Eros International in association with Soundarya Ashwin Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios, 'Rana' has Deepika Padukone and Ileana D'Cruz opposite the 'Thalaivar'. A R Rahman is composing the music and we learn that the Oscar-winner has already completed four songs.

Though Ravikumar is not ready to confirm the shooting date, it is learnt that 'Rana' would hit the floors in the first week of October. "Since only two weeks are left, the director is working overtime to ensure that all is well. Rajini is closely monitoring the developments," say sources.

Rajinis second heroine is Ileana

As reported earlier, every other day some piece of info or news about superstar Rajini’s upcoming film ‘Rana’ hits the press. The latest info is that Telugu cinema’s leading heroine Ileana D’Cruz a.k.a. Ileana has been signed up to play the second heroine in the hi-profile film.

After more than three decades, Rajini would be seen playing a triple role in a film. K.S. Ravikumar, the director with the Midas’ Touch, is finalizing the script in a hurry.
Hema Malini, the yesteryear dream girl of Bollywood, is said to be in talks to play the third heroine in the film, sources say. The Tamil-speaking Hema has already starred alongside Rajni in his debut Hindi film ‘Andhaa Kaanoon’ as his elder sister. Meanwhile, Rajini and Ravikumar might be leaving for England in the first week of England to finalize Rajini’s looks in the film as well as the shooting spots.

Rajini's fans anxious

Certain changes are being made to the original script of 'Rana' considering the health condition of Superstar Rajinikanth, who recently underwent treatment for kidney related ailment at a Singapore hospital.

This has been confirmed by lyricist Vairamuthu, who called on the top actor recently at Sri Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Kodambakkam. "I was so happy to meet Rajini after a gap," he says.

Vairamuthu adds: "Rajini is perfectly alright. And he is in a very good mood, cracking jokes and analyzing things in his own style. But still, some minor changes are being made to Rana as director KS Ravikumar is not ready to give any strain to the Superstar."

"We discussed many issues in the meeting that lasted for 45 minutes. The topics we covered including literature, politics, philosophy and life. Rajini is happy with the care and concern showered on him by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, DMK president M Karunanidhi and of course, his fans."

“The film’s shooting has only been temporarily suspended due to Rajini’s ill health. Now that he is recovering fast, the shooting is likely to commence soon,” the IANS quoted Manohar as saying.

The rumours related to Rana being dropped started doing rounds after the superstar was taken to Singapore following his ill health. Though KS Ravikumar and the other sources often clarified about the movie, still there were reports of the movie being dropped.
