K S Ravikumar speaks about Raana

K S Ravikumar has earlier directed films Muthu and Padaiyappa which had Rajnikanth in the lead role. Now he is directing Rajni in the film Raana. Rajni has written the story of this film while K S Ravikumar has penned the screenplay and dialogues.

Deepika Padukone is pairing with Rajni in this film. K S Ravikumar while speaking about this film said, "Raana means king. This story is about a king who lived many decades ago. That king was called Raana. The story of the film happens in the 17th century. Rajni has written the story and I have written the screenplay and dialogues. Many are asking that whether this film is meant for children. This film is not for children alone. Children will also like this film. About whether this film will get international acclaim, I should say yes. This film will satisfy all Rajni’s sir fans. There are six songs in this film. A R Rahman is composing the music.

A R Rahman has completed one song. We were shooting this song. This is the theme song. Srinivas and Chinmayee have sung this song. Deepika is appearing in the olden day dress for this song. Another song is also getting ready. This will be Rajni’s sir intro song. S P Balasubramanian is singing this song. Other songs will also be completed in a short span of time. Both the lyrics have been penned by Vairamuthu. The rest of the songs will also be written by him. Deepika is very cooperative. She should be like this till the end. This is actually a pure Tamil film. But this film is being made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

There will minor changes to suit the Telugu and Hindi audiences. The budget of this film will cross Rs 100 Crores. We have planned to shoot this film for 220 days. Eros and Hara are jointly producing this film. Sonu Sood is donning the villain role in this film. The film will hit the screens by end of 2012."
