Shankar’s Robot will be a high tech savvy production. Shankar is very cautious about even the least things before he sets into motion. The dynamic director has now become well versed with the latest technology in the film making world. This is the first time thirty assistant directors will be involved in making of this film.
High sophisticated super computers have been procured from America. These machines will be installed in a separate room being built exclusively for this purpose in Gemini Studios. The assistants and the technicians who work in this high tech room will be monitored by CC cameras by high professional to avoid any leak of the making. One can remember Shankar was very upset on a release of the picture where Rajni is bald in the film Shivaji. All the said technicians and assistants will use the latest thumb swipe system to enter the room and also to start the 20system. All the systems will be connected by KVM Switch mode.
IT experts from USA have also been employed to execute the task. Bharathiraja son Manoj is also one of the associate for this film. Robot Rajini will have Aishwarya Bachchan as his lady love for the first time and the actress has already allotted 6 months bulk dates continuously for a whopping Rs.60 million. , Robot will be the second film in which Aishwarya Rai will be collaborating with Shankar, and her third in Tamil. Her first Jeans (1998), a Shankar directorial resulted in Hollywood noticing the actress after the film was nominated as India’s entry for the Academy Awards. Shankar’s movies have rewritten movie history twice on the issue of cost and number of prints.
While Jeans was released in 1998 with a record 240 prints, Shivaji - The Boss (2007) is the most expensive release till date with around 400 prints shown on over 900 screens simultaneously. The movie is a joint venture by Entertainment giants like Ayangaran and Eros and AR Rahman will compose the music for this flick. Rajnikanth is to don a series of new looks for his forthcoming mega sci-fi thriller Robot. Reportedly, he will be going to Hollywood to try out novel prosthetic make-up styles, estimated to cost over three crores, for the Shankar-directed film. Rajnikanth will be meeting veteran US make-up artist Michael R Jones.
Incidentally, Michael did the make-up for Shankar’s film Indian that had Kamal Haasan in the lead. He has also done several Hollywood films like Tales from the Crypt, the Dolph Lundgren starrer Dark Angel and Ghost. Shankar will be accompanying the actor to finalize the series of ‘new looks’ for the multi-billion-rupee projects.
