KS Ravikumar revealed Rajini Rana Movie Details

KS Ravikumar confirmed Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone doing lead roles in Rana. Already media reported Asin, Rekha, Vidya Balan etc., are playing in the movie and these actresses out for various reasons.
Director K.S.Ravikumar Declining all this rumors, he said “Media should official confirmation with me and do not write news on baseless rumors. we never approaced Asin for this movie. Kamal Haasan & Amitabh Bachchan also not in Rana”.
And he says, “Rana is 17th century Historical Action Film, Rajini himself wrote the full story. Shooting will start on last week of April in London.”

Shankar Is Soon Planning To Make A Sequel To Enthiran

With Enthiran, Rajni has emerged as the king of the Indian box office, overtaking the Khans. Now our Superstar is back with his next project Rana, with Rajni in a triple role.
Meanwhile, there are also reports that director Shankar is soon planning to make a sequel to Enthiran (Robot in Telugu and Hindi). Interestingly, Enthiran ended on a note where it gave scope for a sequel.
The same team of Enthiran, including Rajinikanth, director Shankar, producer Sun Pictures, music director A.R. Rahman and cinematographer Rathnavelu will be part of the sequel. The project is expected to commence after Rajni completes Rana.
TRIVIA: Enthiran (along with the Telugu and Hindi versions) has broken all records in India by earning a staggering Rs. 100 crores in its opening weekend, which includes overseas collections.

சௌந்தர்யா இயக்கி வரும் ‘சுல்தான் தி வாரியார்’ இப்போதைக்கு இல்லை எனவும், அந்தப் படத்தை அவர் பார்த்துக்கொள்வார் எனவும் முடிவும் எடுக்கப்பட்டது. இதில் சௌந்தர்யா டெக்னிகல் டைரக்டர் மட்டுமே. ‘ராணா’வில் ரேகா, ஹேமாமாலினி, என தினம் தினம் ஒரு செய்தி வெளியாவதால் நானே விளக்கமளித்துவிடுவது என்ற முடிவுக்கு வந்துவிட்டேன்.
எல்லா நடிகைகளிடமும் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். இதில் 6 முதல் 7 கதாநாயகிகள்  வரை நடிக்கின்றனர். அனைவருமே முன்னணி நடிகையர் தான். 17 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டில் நடைபெற்ற ஒரு வரலாற்று சம்பவத்தை சினிமாவுக்கான கற்பனையை சேர்த்து வழங்க உள்ளோம். தற்போதைக்கு தீபிகா படுகோனே மட்டும் ஒப்பந்தாமாகியுள்ளார். (ஹப்பா.. எனக்கு அது போதும்!).
தேர்தலில் வாக்களித்துவிட்டு அடுத்த மாத இறுதியில் இங்கிலாந்தில் படப்பிடிப்பை தொடங்கவிருக்கிறோம். படப்பிடிப்பு காலம் ஒரு வருடம் என தீர்மானித்திருக்கிறோம். சென்னையில் மிகப் பெரிய
செட்கள் அமைக்க இருக்கிறோம். படத்தின் பட்ஜெட் இப்போதைக்கு ரூ.100 கோடிகள் என்றாலும் அதற்க்கு மேலும் அதிகரிக்கக்கூடும்.
முதல் பகுதி ஸ்க்ரிப்ட் எழுதி முடித்துவிட்டேன். இரண்டால் பகுதி எழுதிவருகிறேன். படத்தில் அசின் நடிக்கவில்லை. வித்யா பாலனிடம் பேசியது உண்மை. அதே போல இதில் கமல் நடிப்பாரா என்று கேட்கிறார்கள். (யாருப்பா அது கேட்டது? ஏன்… ஏன்… இந்த கொலை வெறி?) அவருக்கான கேரக்டர் இதில் இல்லை. (ஹப்பா!).
வழக்கமாக என் படங்களில் இடம் பெரும் பன்ச் வசனங்கள் போல இதிலும் பன்ச் வசனங்கள் இருக்கிறது. அது கதையோடு பொருந்தி இருக்கும். நிறைய கதாநாயகிகள் நடிப்பது போல, கதாநாயகர்களும் இதில் நடிக்கிறார்கள்.
ரத்னவேலு ஒலிப்பதிவு செய்கிறார். ரஹ்மான் இசையமைக்கிறார். அவர் ஏற்கனவே பாடல் கம்போஸிங்கில் தீவிரமாக இருக்கிறார்.

KSR and Soundarya clarify about Rana
At a hurriedly-convened press meet in the city on Superstar Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated flick ‘Rana’, the director of the movie K.S. Ravikumar, and the daughter of the Superstar, Soundarya Ashwin, who is also technical director of the film, clarified some of the speculative reports that have been appearing in the media of late.
They made it clear that that the action-packed trilingual has a fresh script and is not a rip-off of ‘Sultan the Warrior’, the earlier animated film of the actor, as assumed by a section of the media.
“The story of this historical film, set in the 17th century, is the brainchild of the Superstar and has nothing to do with ‘Sultan’…That film is totally directed by Soundarya and she has plans to complete it later,” he said.
Rubbishing reports about Bollywood actress Rekha, who is said to have demanded Rs.4 crore to play opposite Rajini and that KSR could not cast her, he said, “The rumours are baseless. I have never spoken to Rekha or for that matter Hema Malini for ‘Rana’. As of now, only Deepika Padukone has been signed.”
However, the ‘Muthu’ director agreed that since ‘Rana’ is a very big film and Rajini is playing a triple role, they have to speak to many other stars. “We are still talking to Vidya Balan, but nothing is finalised. Talks with Ileana too have been initiated. But the problem at the moment is that Rajini sir and I are fine-tuning the script even now. When it reaches its final shape, if any of these characters are reduced to minuscule figures, then we cannot justify casting big actresses like Vidya Balan.”
He also did not rule out the possibility of big actors who will share screen space with Rajinikanth. On punch lines for Rajini he said, “My films are always filled with contemporary dialogues. Rana is no different.”
The movie, produced by Eros International, has A.R. Rahman composing the music and Ratnavel behind the camera and shooting is likely to commence around the last week of April.

Japan Prime Minister Invites Rajini

People from different walks of life came together to express their solidarity with a nation that is trying its best to cope with one of the biggest natural disasters in recent times. The endurance, conviction, hardwork, discipline and spirit of the Japanese will help them recover quickly and emerge stronger, they said.
Senior actors, lawyers, artists, diplomats and writers spoke at the meeting convened by industrialist R. Veeramani here on Monday.
Speaking of a “legendary quality” of the Japanese, actor Rajinikanth said they had the remarkable ability to “bounce back” from the most adverse situations. The actor, who is known to have a huge following in Japan, said he would pray for the nation.

Poet-lyricist Vairamuthu said disaster was not something new to Japan. “They see every fall as a stepping stone for growth and more prosperity. There is a lot to be learnt from the people of Japan,” he said.
Dancer Padma Subrahmanyam said Japan, with its “tremendous spiritual strength”, would certainly come out of the tragedy soon.

Rajinikanth in disguise

Rajinikanth may be at the zenith of superstardom but he has not forgotten his humble origins or his friends from the good old days. Every once in a while he visits Bangalore to catch up with pals like Raj Bahadur and Raghunandhan to recapture the fun times of yore. While Superstar was working as a bus conductor on the now famous routes 10 and 10 A, Raj Bahadur was the bus driver. The two were great friends and it was Raj Bahadur who helped Rajini realize his acting dreams.
The Superstar visited Bangalore a few days ago. He usually goes in disguise to avoid recognition. The actor chilled out at his friend’s house for a bit. Later, a bunch of pals from the days gone by met up and they visited all the old haunts stopping for tea and refreshments in the roadside stalls they used to frequent. Then the gang spent the night in a small hotel, talking and laughing till the wee hours of the morning. These guys still call the Superstar Shivaji and some don’t even have cell phones!

With the state assembly elections fast approaching the multitude of parties across the state feverishly pitching in with their final efforts to the public; party biggies also find this the right time for favoring the crème dela crème of the film industry. Hasan Mohammed Jinnah the DMK candidate will be contesting from the Thousand Lights constituency, the one contested and won by Stalin previously. Reports indicate that it was actress-politician Kushboo who would contest from this part but later due to reasons undisclosed the area was given to Mr. Jinnah. Sources also suggest that Ms Kushboo Sunder will not be contesting the elections this time but will be lending her moral support by campaigning vigorously for the DMK party.

Mr. Jinnah recently met the Superstar of Kollywood at his residence in Chennai and sought the star’s goodwill for this election. Reports indicate the Mayor of Tamilnadu was present during the meeting along with Mr. Jinnah. Though the Superstar has not indicated his support for any party yet, he welcomed Mr. Jinnah with a silk shawl and conveyed his good wishes to the candidate for the coming elections.

The hero is Radhakrishnan called RK by everyone. Sada is paired opposite him. RK is thrilled to be a part of this venture and he says it is a superb script. Without going into details he says that everybody acts in real life and this leads to complications. This is the premise of the movie. It sounds interesting!

Rajinikanth and ‘Cho’ Ramaswamy meet

Whenever election time surfaces, there is one question and one speculation that is mandatory- which party would ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth favour? The recent meeting of the magazine editor-actor-political advisor Cho with Rajinikanth has added fuel to the fire. It is a well known fact that Cho favors the AIADMK party and that he is one of the most intellectually respected and a long time advisor for the party supremo Jayalalitha.

Rajinikanth and Cho has met at the former’s Poes Garden residence and discussed about politics for at least one hour. Later, they departed together in the same car and it remains a mystery as to where they went and who they met after this. Despite his fans urging him to join politics, superstar has always maintained that he will not and has never disclosed which party he favors or votes for.

When Cho was contacted to give his comments about the meeting, he said that he has nothing to share about the meeting or about Rajini’s decision and anything regarding that.

What is Rajinikanth's role in the upcoming elections?

The upcoming Tamil Nadu election is being awaited with bated breath and news about Vijay, Vijayakanth and several film actors campaigning and joining hands with various political parties is making news. It is news that ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth will be in Himalayas when the elections happen and that he will be looking over the construction of an ashram there.

Though Rekha's pairing up with the oldest Rajini seems to be confirmed news, it is said that things on that front are still undergoing finalization.

The most attractive aspect in Raana is the fact that the Superstar himself has penned the story for the film. Rajinikanth has earlier tried his hand in story writing for the 1993 film Valli and also appeared in a guest role. Rajini to Visit Himalayas Before Raana Launch

Superstar Rajini is planned to visit the Himalayas before the launch of his forthcoming movie Raana. Directed by K S Ravikumar, the film will be launched in the end of march. According to sources, the superstar may visit the Himalayas in the middle of the same month and also supervised his own ashram works going there.
