Rajini might be convalescing in Singapore but he is still very much involved with Rana. He keeps himself updated by talking regularly to director KS Ravikumar to check on the status of the project. Even Vairamuthu who is penning the lyrics has to run it once by Superstar. Rana is very close to Rajini's heart and he wants to make sure everything goes well.
Deepika Padukone was in for a pleasant surprise when Rajinikanth called her personally. He told her that he will be back on the sets in September and work will proceed rapidly from that point. Deepika was thrilled to hear from him and assured him that she was onboard and will give her 100 percent to Rana.
