Finally, Sun TV telecasted the Thalaivar Rajini and director K. Balachander interview which was held during the 40 years of the Directors’ Association celebration two months ago.
The event was graced with almost all the tamil directors presence and dance performances by actors and actress.
The entry of Isaignani Ilayaraja and Ilayathalapthy Vijay did lit up the mood of the evening, but it was Superstars entry which stole the loudest of the cheers at the stadium. Later the super star also turned out to be the star of the evening when director K Balachander called Rajinikanth up on stage to ‘interview’ him. The director said that these were questions that had been on his mind for a very long time.

What do you feel you have lost out on because of the fame cinema has given you?
I cannot be an ordinary man, move around like people do, go out eat in a restaurant or take a walk. I miss my private life. But Sivaji Rao, the simple man, is always awake inside me
Tamil cinema has elevated you to such great heights of Super star, what would you offer in return?
I will definitely do something that would make all of tamil people proud.
You have achieved so much in cinema. When can we expect a National Award?
(Laughs) That is not with me. It is up to you directors to give me roles that might fetch awards.

I have no idea about penning an autobiography now. In that case it has to an honest one and I feel in that process I may end up hurting some people.Mahatma Gandhi had the guts to write such an autobiography. I will do so when I get the guts

No more i ve reduced it a lot
Which film in my direction do you like the most ?
2 movies i like the most, Aval Oru Thodarkathai watched it 8 times and Arangettam watched it 12 times.
Have you ever felt jealous on some one ?
Yes, upon seeing the saints during my visits to the Himalayas. They seem to have an inner peace and tranquility that we do not.
