Veteran director Sridhar (80) who has directed various classics including Superstar’s film “Ilamai Oonjalaadugiradhu” and other hit movies has passed away this morning because of serious illness.
Superstar shared a good rapport with the the veteran during his life days.
Superstar when produced Arunachalam to bail out some senior producers and stalwarts who were suffering at that time, offered the help to Sridhar also. (He was actually in the first list of 8 producerswho were supposed to produce the film). But Sridhar politely rejected the offer stating that he is having a better livelihood and Superstar can offer the help to any other director or producer who are in real need.
He visited Superstar’s residence in wheel chair without informing him on his birthday in the year 1997 and wished him directly.
Our deep condolences to the veteran’s family and we pray the almighty to rest his soul in peace.

பிரபல இயக்குனரும் மூத்த கலைஞருமான திரு.ஸ்ரீதர் இன்று காலை சென்னையில் ஒரு தனியார் மருத்துவமனையில் காலமானார்.
சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் ‘இளமை ஊஞ்சலாடுகிறது’ உள்ளிட்ட பல வெற்றி படங்களை இயக்குள்ள இவர் சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் அன்பிற்கும் மரியாதைக்கும் பாத்திரமானவர்களுள் ஒருவர்.
மூத்த நலிவுற்ற கலைஞர்களுக்கு உதவும் பொருட்டு அருணாசலம் படத்தை சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் தயாரித்த போது, அதில் எட்டு பங்குதாரர்களுள் ஒருவராக முதலில் ஸ்ரீதருக்கு தான் வாய்ப்பை அளித்தார். ஆனால், ஸ்ரீதர் அதை ஏற்கமருத்துவிட்டார். “நான் ஆண்டவன் புண்ணியத்தில் எந்தவித குறையுமின்றி வசதியாக இருக்கிறேன். என்னை விட தேவைகள் உள்ள யாருக்காவது இந்த வாய்ப்பை அளியுங்கள் ரஜினி” என்று பெருந்தன்மையாக கூறிவிட்டார்.
மேலும் 1997 ஆம் ஆண்டு வந்த சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் பிறந்த நாளின் போது, சக்கர நாற்காலியிலேயே அவரை வீட்டில் (ரஜினியிடம் முன் கூடியே சொல்லாமல்) சென்று சந்தித்து வாழ்த்து கூறினார்.
அன்னாரது குடும்பத்தினருக்கு நம் ஆழ்ந்த இரங்கலை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். அவர் ஆன்மா சாந்தியடைய எல்லாம் வல்ல இறைவனை பிரார்த்திப்போம்.
