"I am thrilled to be part of ‘Rana’, which is a period film," Superstar Rajinikanth said today in Chennai.
Speaking at the launch of the movie, which is directed by K S Ravikumar and produced by Eros International in association with Soundarya Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios, he said, "It is a challenging task to do a period film. I am sure we will pull it off".
Deepika Padukone plays Rajinikanth's heroine and the movie has cinematography by Rathanavelu and music by A R Rahman. A grand set resembling 17th century has been erected at the AVM Studios, where the film went on floors today.
