The shooting of Kochadaiyan which has Rajnikanth in the lead role is to commence next month. The photo shoot for this film has taken place in Chennai. Rajni removed his beard and mustache and put up the makeup. Since Rajni is putting a makeup after a long time after his illness, there were some religious ceremonies conducted by his family members. The priests conducted various rituals. Finally a coconut was broken to cast away evil eye. Latha Rajnikanth while speaking about this said, “I am very happy to see my husband Rajnikanth putting up the makeup. I am very thankful to God. Religious rituals were conducted and a coconut was broken.”

Rajni’s daughter Soundarya is directing this film. A huge cast consisting of Sarath Kumar, Aadhi, Nasar, Vadivelu and Shobana are starring in this film. Katrina Kaif is the heroine of this film.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiyaan is all set to start within a few days.
Recently a Puja for the Photoshoot of the film took place at AVM Studio where Rajinikanth was seen breaking the coconut in his sentimental pillayar temple.

Sources say that the superstar who was present there, later went to the makeup room and returned back in his Kochadaiyaan Avatar.
Soundarya Ashwin the director and KS Ravikumar the film’s supervisior along with Latha Rajinikanth, SP Muthuraman, Cho Ramaswamy and few others where present at the occasion adds sources.
Later the team moved into the studio and a brief Photoshoot was held it seems. Soon official announcements and First Look still of Kochadaiyaan will be let out to the media.

For the first time, in an exclusive interview, Latha opens up to DCabout her wards, academic pursuits, spiritual inclination, private life and above all – The Man Called Rajinikanth.
Excerpts:
On being the wife of Superstar, your private life is always under public scrutiny. How do you feel?
It is not easy! It’s like living in a glass house. We are denied the opportunity of being normal citizens. I think being in the public eye is not an easy feeling for anybody.
Has the stardom of your hubby had an impact on your life?
It does have a lot of impact. It’s already a raised bar! Of course, he doesn’t give me the feeling of a superstar at home (laughs). We complement our work and support each other.
When the world sees Rajinikanth as super human being, you see him as a human being. How do you manage both sides?
We are thankful and feel blessed that the world sees him with such esteem and high regard. But when I see him as a person, the real side is just as good, just as important, just as humble as what people see. So, there are no two sides.
He would have been busy with his career all through. How was it bringing up two kids?
It is like you have to be father and mother at the same time. Whenever he was around, he did his best as a father, spending quality time with the family and sometimes taking us out on holidays.
Both daughters, Aishwarya and Soundarya, have branched out on their own in films. Comment.
I think the girls must have gone through what they wanted to be in this field and chose their career. They are naturally good at it. Aishwarya is a very good writer, speaker and sings and dances well. Soundarya is a very good artist.
How did you develop interest in turning academician, venturing into social service, et al, amidst your busy life?
It is part of a personality, I guess. You grew up with an inbuilt structure and by the grace of god, it comes out at some point of time.
Your thoughts on Rajinikanth’s inclination towards spiritualism.
Both of us are spiritually-inclined. Both of us are in bhakti margam. He is also in gnana margam.
Why did you not pursue your playback singing career?
Till three years back, I was releasing albums. Soon, I am coming out with the album Edhuvarayo which talks about every aspect of life. I write all my lyrics.
Do you think your husband is made for politics?
I can’t speak for him, but I can say that he is made for doing a lot of good. Coming to politics is absolutely his call. But whatever he takes up, he is very committed to it.
On this issue, I would like to hear from him. I will never force him into anything. For me, his personal happiness, personal feeling are important. As he says, if he gets a call, he will do it.
Your emotional quotient when Rajini sir’s health took a sabbatical.
For me, it was six months of prayer and meditation. It was people’s love, prayers of great gurus, prayer for one person and unbelievable devotion that stood by him. We decided to go out of the country only for our privacy.
Recently, many celebrities spoke about what Rajini should do in future. What’s your take on that?
He must enjoy his life. Whatever he wants to do, he should do it now. I want him to be in touch with himself. Demands have always been made on him whether in acting or leadership. It is high time he felt free to do what he wants to do. That’s what I wish for him.

Big B, Rajini to come together for Puri Jagannath

Yes, you read it right! The titans of cinema Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth will be seen on one screen, if all goes well as planned...

Talks are that the screen legends have given their nods for director Puri Jagannath's forthcoming venture. It is said that the helmer approached Rajini in Chennai to narrate the script and the Superstar was more than willing to share the screen space with his close buddy Bachchan.

It can be noted that it's been nearly 28 years since Big B and Rajini acted together in T Rama Rao's 'Andha Kanoon'.

For Jagannath, who worked with Sr. Bachchan in 'Buddah Hoga Tera Baap', wanted to work with Rajini as well for a long time. "So far I hadn't dared to approach him because I could not think of a role that would do him justice. It's been my life-long dream to direct Amitji and Rajini Sir," quoted the filmmaker in an interview, who also considers it as a challenge to bring together two such megastars.

Rajinikanth appears at AR Rahman’s concert

Rajinikanth and his daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth made an appearance on Republic Day at AR Rahman’s concert ‘Classic Incantations ‘.

It was an unusual opera like concert and was largely instrumental with musical score played by German film orchestra Babelsberg. The audiences were stiff and formal till the arrival of the superstar who was greeted with thundering applause and cries of Thalaiva.
Rahman went up to Rajinikanth and was seen talking to him. The Oscar winner had recently completed a song recording for the superstar’s Kochadiyaan in Mumbai along with the German orchestra.

Rajinikanth family is not happy with the reports, which claimed that Aishwarya and Soundarya – the daughters of the superstar – are at the loggerheads and their sibling rivalry is now an open secret, as they are planning to release their movies at the same time.

Reacting to the reports, Aishwarya Dhanush questioned how can one write such a baseless story? At least, they could have asked them before publishing it. It is an example of ethics less journalism, claims Aishwarya.
The young director adds that she and Soundarya are into different kind of films. While younger sibling is venturing into animation kind of movie, she is into feature film, Aishwarya Dhanush further claims.

Just a couple of days back it was said that Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif was approached by the 'Kochadaiyaan' makers to play the female lead. The latest is that the matinee idol plays a King who is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and Rajini will be seen in a different get up with long tresses.

'Kochadaiyaan' means a king with long hair and Rajini will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in this film with really long hair.

While Katrina Kaif is reworking her dates to somehow fit in the film, it is said songs featuring Rajini wooing Katrina will spell class and grandeur. A love song between the duo is one of the highlights.

Rahman will be bringing 130 musicians from Germany to record the background score of the film and he has already tuned in most of the tracks for the film.

Soundarya Rajinikanth recently said in her social networking site that the stunt director of Superstar Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan would be handled by Master Peter Hein.

And this would be the stunt masters first ever 3D film, in which he will be choreographying the stunt sequences.

Peter Hein who is well known for his breath taking action sequences from mega blockbusters like Enthiran, Ghajini, Run, Kaakha Kaakha, Anniyan, Magadheera, Raavanan, KO and the recent 7am Arivu.

Rajini lends wedding hall for anti-corruption fast: IAC

Pledging his support to anti-graft initiatives, superstar Rajinikanth has lent his sprawling marriage hall here free of cost for the three-day fast being organised by Team Anna activists for a strong Lokpal Bill.

“We are organising a three-day fast from tomorrow. We had approached him for support. He (Rajinikanth) accepted it and said he was always for anti-corruption,” India Against Corruption’s (IAC) Central Core Committee member M.S. Chandramohan said today.
The Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in the heart of the city in Kodambakkam locality here will be the venue for the fast being held from tomorrow to express solidarity with social activist Anna Hazare, who is beginning his fast in Mumbai.
“He (Rajinikanth) offered it free of cost and said it was his service to the country,” Chandramohan said.
Asked whether Rajnikanth would visit the venue during the fast, Chandramohan said, “He is always invited. But, he has not said anything on that possibility so far.”

Around the 1st week of December When I came to know about Thiru Anna Hazare’s visit to Chennai on the 18th & 19th I sent a message to Rajini sir expressing my wish that he should meet Annaji and exchange views. But unfortunately Rajini sir was still recovering from severe cold and infection during Annaji’s Chennai visit.
Thiru Anna Hazare visited Chennai on the 18th of December. He was given a rousing reception at the airport by eager volunteers of IAC. The visit was a morale booster for the youth & public of Tamil Nadu. He addressed a crowd of more than 15000 people at the Pachayappas’ college grounds at 5 pm that evening. Public and volunteers of IAC came from all parts of the state. Annaji spoke for almost 40 minutes that evening!
Giving a clarion call to the youth, Annaji called upon them to come forward to serve this country – Bharath-– from being run & controlled by selfish leaders to be transformed into a “great nation”. He also sought them to be inspired by people like Bhagath singh , sukh dev & Rajguru to sacrifice for the country. He said to serve society will be a thankless but highly valuable duty! “ oru vidhai than uyirai thyagam seidhalthaan, oru kadhirin vilaiychal undaagamudiyum” he clarified. He advised the youth to be prepared for any challenge, pain or insults when serving the public interest. “Podhu vazhkaiyil makkalukku sevai seyyumbodhu, avamanathai vaangavaum, thangavaum vizhungavam thayaragha inrungal” was his message. People were so inspired and energized by Annaji’ talk.
On the 19th of December Annaji left for the Airport to take a morning flight. I was luckily part of the entourage to see off Annaji & team at the airport.As he was waiting for boarding, around 10.30am, I got a call.SURPRISE! Rajini sir was on line!
Hurriedly I explained that Annaji was about to board the flight. Rajini sir expressed a wish to talk to him if it was possible. I rushed, checked with Annaji and he happily agreed. I connected the call thru my mobile for Rajini sir to speak with Annaji. I was so thrilled that two amazing personalities – so loved by millions of Indians- are connecting up!
Happily I stood in front of Annaji and heard this side of the conversation. Annaji was smiling and chatting. “I have heard so much about you , and I am happy to talk to you” he told Rajijinisir. I had goose bumps. In the course of the chat (I do not know what was told at the other end by Rajinisir) Annaji laughed lightly and responded humorously and joked too! They spoke for a few minutes. “May be next time we will meet” Annaji concluded.
Later after seeing Annaji off, I connected with Rajinisir. He stated that he saw the complete speech of Annaji live on TV! He was amazed by the response of the public. He was in full praise for the IAC efforts at the meeting at the pachayappas’ college and heartily congratulated me on the Tamil translation I had done of Annaji’s speech. I was humbled. Eagerly he asked as to when Annaji is coming back again to Chennai. I stated what Annaji had mentioned in the public meeting. “when we achieve our goal of Jan lok pal becoming a reality , I will come again for celebrations at Chennai”. Rajinisir said he will look forward to that.
That was a momentous occasion: two great personalities, two good souls getting connected!

Rajinikanth’s film on Asin’s wish-list

Asin Thottumkal has been waiting for a good script to make her comeback to Tamil films since a long time. The actress, who kept herself busy in Bollywood after Kaavalan, had told before that she would return if any script comes her way. Now, the Ghajini gal, just like other actresses, has expressed her wish to act in superstar Rajinikanth’s movie.

Recently, there were reports that Asin was also one of the contenders to play female lead in Rajinikanth’s next movie Kochadaiyaan. Reacting to this, she said, “I wish to work with Rajini… If I come across a good project I will certainly act (opposite him).” However, a section of people have raised their voices claiming that they object a Kerala girl acting in Tamil movie due to the ongoing Mullaperiyar Dam row.

'Kochadaiyaan' shooting schedule

The shooting of Superstar Rajinikanth's forthcoming film 'Kochadaiyaan' will start in the second week of January 2012 (post Pongal) and will be completed by the end of March. This has been confirmed by K S Ravikumar, who is supervising the film.

Besides penning the story, screenplay and dialogues, Ravikumar, the lucky mascot of the Superstar, is also assisting Rajini's daughter Soundarya Ashwin in directing the movie. The director has also revealed that the superstar is quite impressed with the story.

Ravikumar also is believed to have said that the scripting for 'Kochadaiyaan' is completely done with and the filming will begin after Pongal and progress till March. He has also revealed that this film will be a landmark movie in the history of Tamil cinema and a sure treat to all the superstar fans.

The director of 'Nattamai', 'Padayappa' and 'Dasavatharam' also cleared the air regarding a rumor that was floating around, that suggested a serial bearing the same name published by a Tamil daily bearing resemblance to the film's script, quashing them as rumors and reinforcing that there is no connection whatsoever with the storyline of 'Kochadaiyaan' with the novel.

I t is not unknown for fans to fast before a Rajini release, as prayer to the Gods for success of his film. But, perhaps, in a part of the world that puts its film stars on very high pedestals, that’s not unusual. Try this.

If you could possibly wangle a first-day-first-show ticket to a Rajini starrer, you will witness something you won’t see in a movie theatre, ever.

Rajinikanth gets his very own credits styling. The screen will say ‘Superstar’, then his name will follow: ‘Rajini’ in English and then in Tamil, glowing in platinum. By the time your eyes adjust to the glare, you realise that you might also lose your hearing. Every member of the theatre audience is standing up, chanting ‘Thalaivar! Thalaivar!’ (which means ‘boss’ in Tamil). Then he will make his entrance: First you see the underside of his shoe; then dried leaves and debris will fly out of the way when the foot comes to earth. Then the camera moves above ground and pauses, looking up, as a supplicant would to the saviour. That’s when the noise in the theatre reaches a crescendo and… the credits pause. And you see, at the foot of the screen, the regional distributor, the multiplex manager, and a few other dignitaries, resplendent in crisp white veshtis, are standing with a priest, who begins to chant prayers. Which end with the men in veshtis holding out their right hands and performing an aarti by burning camphor on their palms.

Then the crowd will settle down and the film will continue. Chances are, you’ll see the signature moves: The finger pointing skyward, deft handiwork with the sunglasses (in older movies, you’d have seen the cigarette toss; he doesn’t smoke on screen now, though). You’ll see gravity-defying jumps and hordes of bad guys being done in. Through it all, nothing will dislodge the Superstar’s smile and sunglasses.

Rajinikanth’s story is straight out of the movies: Boy from the wrong side of the tracks makes it big. Born Shivaji Rao Gaekwad, he had a wild childhood and even wilder youth where his pranks got him into all kinds of trouble: He was thrashed by the cops for chasing girls and beaten by restaurant workers for trying to pass off an old six rupee bill for a table full of food that he and his gang had demolished. The tale of how he moved from bus conductor to stage to screen is too well know to retell. Suffice it to say that for all his hell-raising, there was a talent which his friends recognised and people noticed first on stage. His wild ways were temporarily tamed when playwright and director ‘Topi’ Muniappa offered him a chance to act in mythological moral plays. The story goes that he played the villainous Duryodhana so well, he was applauded by old men when he was ripping off Draupadi’s sarees.

Hindi cinema, which was yet to become Bollywood, was, like much of Indian cinema, entangled in social themes. South Indian cinema, especially, was dealing with morality issues, which was fantastic for a performer like Rajinikanth, because he played the villain with much glee (shades of this are visible even in his blockbuster hit Chandramukhi, where his demented, ‘Laka, laka, laka, laka’ still sends shivers down one’s spine). 16 Vayathinile (At the Age of 16) paved the way for unkempt villains who had a singularly disgusting laugh. Mithun Chakraborty ruled 80s Hindi cinema with the same brand of impossible heroics and made-for-the-front-row lines, and inspired similar devotion from his fans. But it took Rajinikanth to not just find the formula of punch-line-laden, impossible-action-packed movie persona, but to make it work for over three decades. And counting.

That he was talented was evident to the director K. Balachander, who offered him a 15-minute role as a drunkard in Apoorva Raagangal (Rare Melodies), a Kamal Haasan starrer. Rajini made an impact as the man who muddies the love story by announcing a prior claim to the affections of the heroine just before she admits her love to the hero.

His mentor/teacher at the film institute, Puttanna Kanagal, gave Rajini his first Kannada movie Katha Sangama (Collection of Stories), where he played a baddie, a man who rapes a blind girl. Rajini played negative roles with ease, and it was just such a villainous role that first offered him a chance to flick his cigarette in the air and flourish his sunglasses. The film was Moondru Mudichu (The Three Knots), in which he played the friend who creates trouble between Kamal Haasan and Sridevi. The movie became a hit and established Rajinikanth as a super villain.

Rajinikanth, Sridevi and Kamal Haasan in a movie meant registers ringing at the box office. But Rajini was restless. He wanted to taste success in Bollywood as well. And though he worked with Amitabh Bachchan and other major stars, the Punjabi lobby dominated Hindi cinema. Dark-skinned Rajini chose wisely, and returned to his millions of fans. But note this: His Billa, an almost frame-by-frame copy of the Bachchan starrer Don, made more at the box office than the original. Billa, in fact, marked the beginning of the Rajini cult. It was clear from here on that he could carry the weight of a movie by himself.

What’s his secret? How does this 60-year-old grandfather, who makes no attempt to conceal the fact that the little hair he has left is very grey, transform miraculously — and credibly — into a limber young chap with a full head of shiny black hair, who wears jeans and whips up bad guys as easily as he polishes his sunglasses?
Partly, it is the focus. After his initial experimentation, he did not attempt to stretch his range, as with the thespian grandstanding of his illustrious contemporary and great friend, Kamal Haasan. He stuck to what he did best, and made that all his own. (Recently, he said that the two of them had struck a gentlemen’s agreement to not cannibalise on each other’s territory.) He wanted to hear the chants of ‘Adhirudhile!’ (‘Rocking!’) from the cheap seats, and he worked hard to ensure that he kept earning it.

Partly, he’s a nice guy, someone who pays his dues, with a sense of responsibility. Like when Valli and Baba failed to bring in expected profits, he returned the money to the distributors who had made a loss, earning their loyalty forever.

Partly, it’s the simplicity of his image, the impossible, uncomplicated heroics that give the man on the street something to cheer. Like splitting an oncoming bullet into two with his knife, dodging both split halves, then smiling as each half hits a different baddie and his knife plunges into the heart of the man with the gun. Or how about saving the heroine, who is strapped to an electricity transformer, by running faster than electrical current after a vengeful villain switches the electricity on.

Certainly the whiplash actions, the mannerisms, the gimmicks, if you will, contribute to memorability.

But face it, there is no film school theory that explains why he can make the viewer not just suspend disbelief but chop it into little pieces, set fire to the remains and stomp on the ashes. There is no intellectual explanation for why the corny rhyming punch lines are such a hit.

Purely and simply, Rajinikanth makes the whole package work. Only he can.

That’s why there are thousands of dedicated fan sites, whose members would rend you limb from limb should you even think about dissing the Superstar.

That’s why even today, the script, the story, the dramatic lines, the costumes of a Rajinikanth movie — they’re all treated like a national security issue. Fan clubs go into frenzy at the slightest hint of a leak and with every movie Rajini and his producers laugh all the way to the bank.

That’s why when Kuselan, not as big a hit as Baasha or Padayappa, was shown across the USA, the candy giant M&M made specially-coloured bites of joy to be made into giant posters of the star; M&Ms were distributed to kids and his fans stampeded the halls as though it was the last show on Earth. In Japan, he is the ‘Dancing Maharaja’ — and to this day busloads of Japanese tourists stop by his Poes Road home in Chennai to take pictures. In Malaysia and Mauritius people expect to be granted leave from work when his movies release.

Applause? Sample this: In Baasha, he’s just asked his brother to step away from the action. The row of thugs is behind him. They drag swords and sickles and what have you from behind and advance towards him. He does not turn around; he’s seething mad though. And just when you think he will be diced by those swords, he bends down and pulls apart a hand pump and with the remains, proceeds to beat them all up, one thug after another, then he ties up the honcho to the lamp-post and beats him to pulp. With the light behind him making him look like some avenging God, he raises his finger and the whole theatre screams: ‘Naan oru dhadavai sonna, nooru dhadavai sonna maadiri!’ (If I say it once, it is like saying it a hundred times!)
It doesn’t matter whether you are originally from north of the Vindhyas, you find yourself whistling and stomping your feet, pretending there are villains there, crushed!

What’s next for Thalaivar? Will he, like so many film stars of the South, move into politics? He’s certainly a thinking man, and fans have admired his plunging into issue-based responses, like fasting during the Cauvery water division fight between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. But he has kept his followers guessing. ‘Yesterday I was a bus conductor,’ he said, ‘Today, an actor. Tomorrow who knows?’

Perhaps it will be spirituality that takes over. Despite the ever-growing bank account, he only seems to get more humble each year. Not for him the carefully publicised temple visit photo-ops of the Bollywood brigade. People who know him say he goes on pilgrimages and visits temples disguised as a beggar. (And, a possibly apocryphal story goes, he is so convincing that once a woman pressed some money into his hands. When she realised who the mendicant really was, she apologised. Rajini, they say, kept the note as a reminder and as a reward for his acting skill.)

Or will he just keep being Rajini?
His Endhiran (in theatres October 1) released a trailer that was shown in a special 10 a.m. screening. Tickets cost Rs. 70. It was sold out. A trailer. Could anyone else command such a following?

I can bear witness that his star power is intact. There was this time I was in Chennai, and was headed to the airport to catch a flight. But my cab ran into a massive traffic jam. Apparently the cops had blocked off the road because the then-Chief Minister was to land in an hour or so, and it had been deemed essential that her road home be kept clear by simply not allowing any other traffic to move. Certain I’d miss my flight, I was panicking.

That’s when I saw the man himself, talking to the police about three or four cars ahead. They didn’t relent. So Rajini simply stepped out of the car, took out a pack of cigarettes, lit one and sat on the bonnet. Within minutes, the road kept empty for the CM was swarming with people who had come out of nowhere. Clearly the black-caped lady would have as much of a wait as the rest of us. The policemen knew what was good for them. They pleaded with him to get back in and waved him and quite a few other cars through, my cab included. I made my flight, thanks to Rajinikanth.

If yesterday we had informed you that AR Rahman will be doing the music for this historical venture, today we are here to inform you about similar interesting info. It is now confirmed that the producers have roped in stunt choreographer Peter Hein for choreographing the stunts for 'Kochadaiyaan.'

The previous time Rajinikanth and Peter Hein got together was for 'Sivaji-The Boss' and later for yet another Shankar magnum opus 'Enthiran.' And in true Rajini style, the South superstar will apparently congratulate the team by doing a little cameo in the new Kolaveri video that will be part of their film 3.

A source said, "Rajinikanth has loved Kolaveri and is clearly very happy and proud of the recognition the song is receiving. Now Aishwarya and Dhanush have requested him to do a special appearance in the film and most likely he will be doing it."

Apparently, the first time he heard the song, he burst out laughing, because the lyrics did not make much sense.

"The language in Kolaveri is like no other song, and it has somehow become the USP. We are shooting three different videos for the song, sometime in December. We're looking at videos that capture the mood of the song right now," says Dhanush.

Ask him about Rajnikanth being part of the song and he adds, "We'd only love it if he's part of everything we do."

Interestingly, Dhanush's latest release, Mayakkam Enna has struck a chord with the audience and it wouldn't be wrong to credit the Kolaveri craze for it. "I think the song isn't meant to be taken so seriously, we must just hum along, and that's all," says Dhanush.

However Rajnikanth is apparently overjoyed in the fact that his daughter's directorial debut is already creating such a buzz. The source said, "He is still resting in Chennai and these days he is highly preoccupied with his grandkids. They happily dance to Kolaveri too!"

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, who is on a thanks giving visit after recovering from ailment recently, offered prayers at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala today.

Rajinikanth, an ardent devotee of Lord Venkateswara, was accompanied by his wife Latha, daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya and sons-in-law Danush and Aswin besides Telugu film star Mohanbabu, temple sources said.

They spent about 30 minutes inside the temple, the sources said.

Family sources said the 61-year-old actor undertook the visit to pay his thanks to the Lord for his speedy recovery from the ailments he suffered in May.

Rajinikanth had last visited the shrine after the wedding of his daughter Soundarya with Ashwin on September 9 last year.

While launching the audio for the Tamil version of his superhero flick, RA.One, Shah Rukh Khan met legendary actor Rajinikanth in Chennai.

The King Khan spent about 30-35 minutes with the Thalaivar. "I had a cup of coffee with him, he gave me coconut water. I spent about half an hour with him and he was cheerful and happy and he was wishing me luck for my film," SRK told NDTV.

"You know I can't compare myself with the great Rajini sir. I wanted to take his blessings, to be a part of the film. So he himself and his wife sent me dinner- they are such kind people. So, I just wanted to go and thank them personally. And I was happy to see him full hale and healthy, it was really nice to see him and to convey my regards of everyone in the unit," SRK said.

'Rana' announcement soon

Director KS Ravikumar has confirmed that the shooting of 'Rana', which came to a halt after Superstar Rajinikanth fell ill, will resume soon and he is in the process of making things ready for the shoot. "Rajini sir is perfectly alright now and I am thrilled to work with him," he says.

The director, who had earlier given blockbusters 'Muthu' and 'Padayappa' with Rajini, says, "Work for Rana is on in full swing and give us a week's time, we will come out with an announcement on the shooting schedule. We are now finalising who will be part of the project and who is not."

Produced by Eros International in association with Soundarya Ashwin Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios, 'Rana' has Deepika Padukone and Ileana D'Cruz opposite the 'Thalaivar'. A R Rahman is composing the music and we learn that the Oscar-winner has already completed four songs.

Though Ravikumar is not ready to confirm the shooting date, it is learnt that 'Rana' would hit the floors in the first week of October. "Since only two weeks are left, the director is working overtime to ensure that all is well. Rajini is closely monitoring the developments," say sources.

As reported earlier, every other day some piece of info or news about superstar Rajini’s upcoming film ‘Rana’ hits the press. The latest info is that Telugu cinema’s leading heroine Ileana D’Cruz a.k.a. Ileana has been signed up to play the second heroine in the hi-profile film.
While Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone has already been confirmed to play the lead opposite one of the three ‘Rajini’s in the film, Vidya Balan and Rekha were in talks to play the other two roles. Certain changes are being made to the original script of 'Rana' considering the health condition of Superstar Rajinikanth, who recently underwent treatment for kidney related ailment at a Singapore hospital.

This has been confirmed by lyricist Vairamuthu, who called on the top actor recently at Sri Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Kodambakkam. "I was so happy to meet Rajini after a gap," he says.

Vairamuthu adds: "Rajini is perfectly alright. And he is in a very good mood, cracking jokes and analyzing things in his own style. But still, some minor changes are being made to Rana as director KS Ravikumar is not ready to give any strain to the Superstar."

It was nearly two months back that Rajini came from Singapore after successfully undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailment. Since then, Superstar Rajinikanth's health is continuously being monitored by Chennai-based doctors.

It's very flattering to note that my two earlier articles have drawn so much attention. My second article 'You Are Not Mr Rajinikanth's Real Fans' has brought in so much positive feedback and compliments. At the point of writing, I have received 56 emails, out of which about 45 have been positive reviews. The rest are as usual - but I would rather view them as people who love Rajini so much but are unable to articulate their feelings in a more pleasant manner. There was also a death threat by a 'die-hard and kill-hard' fan. No worries about that.

Coming to think of it, I guess there are some things that can never be changed at least within an era. There will be die-hard fans who would never tolerate the smallest criticism, and there will be die-hard fans who would criticize till kingdom comes. In the final analysis, the apparent truth is that fans will do anything to show their love.

I have no issues whatsoever with fans offering prayers, shaving their heads, conducting poojas, etc for their favourite actors. I have no issues if they party all night when their actor is cured and returns healthy. All of us need the prayers and well-wishes of our loved ones. I am sure fans of Ajith or Vijay would do the same.

My only contention is that fans should move on from mere emotional rhetorics to the higher grounds of film appreciation. To do that, one needs to evaluate one's associations, affinities and judgments. Cinema is a science that can be understood; so seek to understand. Film stars are humans too; so be more reasonable and compassionate. Know the potential you posses to influence the industry to move forward.

Back in the late 70s, there was a legal situation in a European country which made it difficult for low-income earners to buy houses. Unless one earned a certain minimum wage, the law prevented them from owning houses. The banks were happy because only the high income earners could qualify for loans and also had the ability to repay them. But at the same time, low-income earners had to rent houses and landlords preyed on them. Cries to the government went unheard. A group of cinema-loving commoners felt what they couldn't achieve with their protests could become reality through cinema. They approached a film director, told them of their plight, and a year later a movie was made highlighting this very issue. When the government realized that this movie was causing a revolution of sorts all over the country, they amended the law and instructed the banks to be more poor-friendly. Very soon, everyone could buy a house based on what one could afford. All it took was a small group of cinema fans to make a nationwide impact.

As I had said in the previous article, fans keep the industry going. I would liken fans to parents. A father who chastises a child does it not out of hatred, but because of great love. He is passionate about how his child would turn out to be in years to come. Invariably, the outcome affects the family. In fact, a father who does not correct his child, but blindly defends the child doesn't deserve to be called a father. He is in fact a perpetrator of great injustice to his child.

There is no shortage of talent or technology in the Tamil film industry, but there is a massive shortage of film critics, and who better than fans could fill that need?

Dear Tamil cinema fans, if you love an actor, director or any film personality so much that you would go to any lengths to defend them, then do them the biggest favour you can. Praise him when he does it right, guide him when he goes astray, and scold him when he messes up. Don't just stay away from the theatres for that only impoverishes the industry. Watch the movie, find fault with it, make a fuss about it and most importantly publish it.

The biggest voice in the film industry is the voice of the fans. If fans choose to close one eye, shut their ears and keep their mouths sealed, then it simply means the sooner than expected demise of the industry, and when that happens, where will your beloved star be?

Superstar Rajinikanth seems to be particular in one thing - that to meet his fans and the media before resuming the shoot of his forthcoming film 'Rana'. "His assistants are busy chalking out plans for the meetings", say sources.

"So moved by the affection of fans who hardly left any place of worship, when the Superstar was getting treatment in different hospitals, Rajini made a decision to meet them immediately after coming back from Singapore", they say.

"In fact, he had a plan to meet the media at the airport itself and speak to the fans through them", sources say, adding: "But the Mumbai serial blasts that took place on that day forced him put off his decision".

The problem is that this particular person who has opened an account in the name of Aishwaryaa Dhanush (R Aishwaryaa Dhanush) has been connecting with fans of Rajnikanth and Dhanush from all over the globe posing as the real Aishwarya! This is a clear case of impersonation as well as cheating many, who adore the lady.
Adds Aishwarya: “This person has been connecting with my friends who don’t know that the ID is fake. I wanted to nip this problem in its bud, but was too tied up with work. YOU ARE NOT MR.RAJINIKANTH'S REAL FANS

A few weeks ago, I wrote an article titled 'Celebrities Should Be Role Models' which was published in Behindwoods. In that article, I wrote about how celebrities are looked upon as influencers and therefore the onus lies on them to portray themselves as role models to their fans. I also touched on one specific person, Mr Rajinikanth and expressed my dissatisfaction over his silence when his fans decided to celebrate his return from Singapore at a time when the country was reeling from the aftermaths of the Mumbai incident. My issue was that Mr Rajinikanth did not comment or persuade his fans to review their plans.

What happened afterwards was I was barraged with hoards of emails from people claiming to be Rajini fans, 95% of which were vulgar and abusive bereft of reasoning or intelligence. That got me thinking. I am pretty sure that the really intelligent and level-headed fans of Rajini would never resort to such behavior. At any instance, I welcome an intelligent chat that is thought-provoking and logical, but engaging in abusive language driven by blind unguarded emotions is not what I call sensible behavior.

I am not an ardent fan of Rajini, but he is surely on my top 10 list of favorite actors. I admire his performance but I also criticize him for the goofs he engages in his movies. I did the same for Mr Sivaji Ganesan and I do the same for Kamal, Suriya, Vijay, Ajith and Vikram, who are all on my top 10 list. I am not a blind bat who would agree with everything they do just because I like them. It would probably be unfair to expect everyone to be like me, and I don't. But the least one could expect from a civilized society is traces of decency, intelligence and logic.

Celebrities depend on fans for their survival, and fans being regular people, one can never satisfy everyone all the time. The same fans who made a mediocre masala movie like Sakalakala Vallavan a hit are the ones who turned away from the classic Anbey Sivam. Performance wise, Rajini was much better in Kuselan, albeit in a smaller role, than in Enthiran or Sivaji. Kuselan flopped. Why? The fans again! The list goes on. The bottomline is fans make the difference.

But who is a real fan? Is he the one who would rave at the crappiest movie just because his favorite actor is in it? Or is he going to be one who makes sound judgments based on fairness and truth? In my earlier article, I wrote that Indian film fans are an emotional lot, and they are. Not even in Hollywood would one find fans swarming around celebrities. I was in a restaurant in Hollywood a few years ago, and guess what? Sylvester Stallone walks in, orders his takeaway, pays and walks away. People said hi and that's it. Nobody treated him like a demi-god. Imagine Suriya walking into Saravana Bhavan, and what do you have? Chaos. I am not saying it is wrong to go gaga over a celebrity, but my point is everything has to be done in moderation.

A true fan is one who is concerned about the success of his favorite star. He helps the star chart his course. A true fan is a critic and an educator. He sets the benchmark that stars follow. If fans keep tolerating and raving blindly, stars would never grow or improve. Rather the adoration and adulation only makes stars complacent and conceited.

It doesn't matter if you are a Sivaji, MGR, Kamal, Rajini or any actor's fan. It is your right to be one. At the same be sensible and constructive. Contribute to the improvement of the industry not just with your money but with your ideas and fair criticism. Your blind raving and vain babbling don't augur well for you and for the reputation of your favorite star. For all the mess that fans create in the name of admiration, it is the star who gets the flak.

To those who sent me those abusive emails, I can only smile and say, you are not Mr Rajinikanth's real fans. Think about it!

Rajini to return the favor!

Superstar Rajinikanth has made a full recovery and he is very grateful to his fans who showered him with love and prayed for his health. The great man feels overwhelmed and humbled by the ardent display of affection for him. He wishes to give something back to the people who care so deeply for him. And he is not content to merely convey his gratitude, he wants to do something concrete for them.

Rajini has decided to build a big hospital that will provide affordable and excellent health care for the poor. His brother, Sathyanarayana Rao revealed Rajini's plans in this direction. Apparently, he bought land near Vandalur so that his plans can come to fruition. Plans are currently being drawn up and work will begin shortly.

As always Rajini has proved that he is a living legend and a source of inspiration for all.

The Superstar is planning something really big in return to the love showered on him by the people of Tamil Nadu. Yes, Rajinikanth has decided to construct a state-of-the-art hospital near Chennai, which is aimed at providing 'very affordable' treatment to the public.

Confirming this, Rajini's elder brother Sathyanarayana Rao says, "Land has been acquired near Vandalur for the purpose. Rajini is planning to start the work soon. It will be a very big hospital in all aspects".

Sathyanarayana Rao, who is happy that Rajini is back home with renewed energy, after successfully undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailment in Singapore, said, "The hospital he is going to build may provide free treatment to the poor".

Going down the memory lane, the affectionate brother says, "In his childhood days, I would often scold and beat him, for he was a mischievous kid. But at the same time, he was very spiritual too, and would regularly visit nearby temples with his friends".

1) என்.டி.டி.வி.-ஹிந்துவின் ‘Most ஸ்டைலிஷ்’ நடிகர் விருதை வென்றார் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினி!
என்.டி.டி.வி.-ஹிந்து தொலைக்காட்சி பல்வேறு துறைகளில் சிறந்து விளங்கும் நபர்கள் மற்றும் நிறுவனங்களுக்கு விருது Life Style awards வழங்கி கவுரவித்துள்ளது. சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினி ஸ்டைலிஷான நடிகர் விருதை பெற்றுள்ளார். இதன் மூலம் என்.டி.டி.வி. குழுமத்தின் மூன்றாவது விருதை பெறுகிறார்.

இந்த விருது வழங்கும் நிகழ்ச்சி தற்போது பார்க் ஷெராட்டன் ஓட்டலில் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. சூப்பர் ஸ்டாருக்கு ‘Most Stylish’ நடிகர் விருது அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் சார்பாக இந்த விருதை அவரது மகள் ஐஸ்வர்யா தனுஷ் பெற்றுக்கொண்டார். “இந்த விருது அவரது ஸ்டைலுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல. அவர் ஒரு மிகச் சிறந்த மனிதர் என்பதாலும் தான்.” என்று தொகுப்பாளர் கூறி தான் ஐஸ்வர்யாவை விருது பெற அழைத்தார்.
கார்த்தி சிதம்பரம், த்ரிஷா, தோட்டா தரணி உள்ளிட்டோர் இந்த விருதை அளிக்கும்போது மேடையில் இருந்தனர்.
ஐஸ்வர்யா தனுஷ் விருதை பெற்றுக்கொண்டு பேசுகையில் “இந்த விருது கிடைத்தது குறித்து அப்பா தனது மகிழ்ச்சியை தெரிவித்தார். இந்த விருதை அவர் சார்பாக இங்கு பெற்றுக்கொள்வதை நான் மிகப் பெரிய கௌரவமாக கருதுகிறேன். அப்பா, தற்போது நலம் பெற்று ஓய்வெடுத்து வருகிறார். தன் மீது அன்பும் பாசமும் வைத்து தனக்காக பிரார்த்தித்த அனைவருக்கும் தனது நன்றியினை தெரிவிக்க சொன்னார். இந்த விருதை அளித்த என்.டி.டி.வி.-ஹிந்து குழுமத்திற்கு எங்கள் நன்றி.” என்று கூறினார்.

வியாபாரம், விநியோகம், ஆடியோ உரிமை, ரிலீஸ் தியேட்டர்கள் எண்ணிக்கை, விளம்பர ஒப்பந்தம், அயல்நாட்டு உரிமம், மற்றும் ரிலீஸ் சென்டர்கள் இப்படி பல விஷயங்களில் தமிழ் மற்றும் தென்னிந்திய திரையுலகில் முன்மாதிரி ஏற்படுத்தி – அனைவருக்கும் வெளிச்சத்தை காட்டியவை – சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினி அவர்கள் நடித்த படங்களே.
குண்டு சட்டியில் குதிரை ஒட்டிக்கொண்டிருந்த தமிழ் சினிமா வர்த்தகத்தை உலக அளவில் கொண்டு சென்று, சர்வதேச பார்வையாளர்களை தமிழ் சினிமாவுக்கு பெற்றுத் தந்தது நம் படங்களே.

100 கோடிகள் பட்ஜெட் என்றால், அதில் கணிசமான ஒரு பங்கு படத்தின் விஷுவல் எஃபக்ட்ஸ் செலவுக்கே சென்றது. அந்த தொகையில் இரண்டு மெகா பட்ஜெட் படங்கள் எடுத்துவிடலாம்.
இந்த சூழ்நிலையில், எந்திரன் படத்தின் பிரமாண்ட வெற்றி தந்திருக்கும் நம்பிக்கையில் ஒரு படத்தின் விஷூவல் எஃபக்ட்ஸுக்கு பெரிய தொகையை தைரியமாக செலவழிக்கலாம் என்ற முடிவிற்கு பாலிவுட் வந்துள்ளது.

ஷாரூக் கானின் ரா-ஒன் படத்தின் ட்ரெயிலர் சமீபத்தில் வெளியிடப்பட்டது. அந்த படத்தில் காணப்பட்ட விஷூவல் எஃபக்ட்டுகள் பரபரப்பாக திரை ஆர்வலர்களால் பேசப்படுகிறது.
பாக்ஸ் ஆபீசில் சூறாவளியாக சுழன்று கலக்கு கலக்கிய எந்திரனில் கூட விஷூவல் எஃபக்ட்டுகள் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டிருந்தன. ஆனால், அதில் 2000 ஷாட்டுக்கள் இடம்பெற்றிருந்தன. ஆனால ரா-ஒன்னில் 3500 ஷாட்டுக்கள் இடம்பெற்றிருப்பதாக கூறப்படுகிறது. இந்த படத்தின் ஸ்பெஷல் எபக்ட் காட்சிகளுக்காக இந்தியா, கனடா, தாய்லாந்து, பிரான்ஸ், யூ.எஸ். உள்ளிட்ட நாடுகளில் சுமார் 750 நிபுணர்கள் பணியாற்றிவருகின்றனர்.
இன்று ஒரு படத்தின் ஸ்பெஷல் எபகடுகளுக்கு இத்துனை செலவு செய்கின்றனர். ஆனால் சில வருடங்களுக்கு முன்னர் நிலைமையே வேறு.
நிஜத்தில் எடுக்கக முடியாத, ஆல்லது செலவ அதிகம் பிடிக்கக்கூடிய காட்சிகளை தான் VFX எனப்படும் கம்ப்யூட்டர் கிராபிக்ஸ் தொழில் நுட்பத்தை பயன்படுத்தி எடுப்பார்கள்.
ஸ்பெஷல் எபக்டுகளை அதிகளவில் பயன்படுத்தி சாந்தினி சவுக் டு சைனா, ப்ளூ, அலாதின், குஷாரிஷ், உள்ளிட்ட பல படங்கள் வெளியான போதும், அவை எதுவும் பாக்ஸ் ஆபீசில் வெற்றிபெறவில்லை. அப்படத்தில் பயனப்டுத்தபப்ட்ட VFX ஷாட்டுக்கள், விழலுக்கிறைத்த நீராய் வீணாகப் போயின. தயாரிப்பாளர்களுக்கும் பெருத்த நஷ்டத்தை தந்தன. ஆகையால் VFX இல் பணத்தை செலவு செய்வது வீண் வேளை என்று முடிவுக்கு வந்தனர் பாலிவுட்டில். இந்நிலையில், எந்திரன் பெற்ற பிரம்மாண்ட வெற்றி அதன் போக்கையே மாற்றியது.
2009 ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்த VFX சந்தையில் சந்தையில் மொத்த முதலீடு 320 கோடியாக இருந்தது. 2010 ஆம் ஆண்டு அது 420 கோடியாக உயர்ந்தது. 2015 ஆண்டில் இந்த துறையில் மொத்த முதலீடு ரூ.5590 கோடியாக இருக்கும் என்று மதிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
3) சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினி நலம் பெற்றதையடுத்து பழனியில் ஒரே நேரத்தில் 1008 பேர் மொட்டை!
திருப்பூர் ரஜினிகாந்த் தொழிலாளர் சங்கம் சார்பாக பழனியில் ஆகஸ்ட் 2 ஆம் தேதி (செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை), ஒரே நேரத்தில் 1008 பேர் மொட்டை போட்டுக்கொள்கின்றனர். திருப்பூர் ரஜினிகாந்த் தொழிலாளர் சங்கத்தின் தலைவர் எஸ்.எஸ்.முருகேஷ், செயலாளர் ஈஸ்வர் உள்ளிட்டோரும் மொட்டை போட்டுக்கொள்கின்றனர்.
இது தொடர்பான ஏற்பாடுகள் அனைத்தும் செய்யப்பட்டுவிட்டன. 1008 பேர் என்பதால் திங்கள் இரவு தொடங்கி மறுநாள் மதியம் வரை விடிய விடிய இந்த நிகழ்வு நடைபெறும். தவிர திருப்பூர் ரஜினிகாந்த் தொழிலாளர் சங்கத்தினர் பழனி தண்டாயுதபாணி சுவாமி கோவிலில் சிறப்பு அர்ச்சனை, அபிஷேகம் மற்றும் ஆராதனைகளை ஏற்பாடு செய்துள்ளனர்.
தனிநபர் ஒருவருக்காக இதுவரை இந்தியாவின் எந்த கோவிலிலும் இத்துனை பேர் ஒரே நேரத்தில் மொட்டை போட்டதில்லை என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
4) தென்னிந்திய ஆடியோ மார்கெட் முழுதும் சோனி வசம் – எந்திரனை தவிர!
ஆடியோ மார்கெட்டில் முன்னணியில் இருக்கும் ‘சோனி மியூசிக்’ நிருவனம், சமீபத்தில் சத்யம் சினிமாஸின் ‘திங்க் மியூசிக்’ நிறுவனத்திடமிருந்து சுமார் 146 படங்களின் உரிமையை வாங்கியுள்ளது. ஆனால் இந்திய திரையுலக சரித்திரத்தில் மிகப் பெரிய படமான எந்திரனை மட்டும் கோட்டைவிட்டுவிட்டது.
கடந்த ஆண்டு எந்திரனின் இசை வெளியான சமயம், அதன் ஆடியோ வெளியீட்டு உரிமையை பெற சோனி ம்யூசிக் மற்றும் ‘திங்க் மியூசிக்’ ஆகிய நிறுவனங்களிடையே கடும் போட்டி நிலவியது நினைவிருக்கலாம். இறுதியில் மிகப் பெரிய தொகையை (ரூ.7 கோடி) கொடுத்து எந்திரனை பெற்றது ‘திங்க் மியூசிக்’.

“திங்க் மியூசிக்கிடமிருந்து நாங்கள் வாங்க வேண்டிய படங்களை பற்றி பேச்சு வார்த்தை நடைபெற்று அது இறுதியடைந்த போது, எந்திரன் ஆடியோ வெளியாகவில்லை. ஆகையால் இந்தப் பட்டியலில் அது சேரவில்லை” என்று இந்த டீல் குறித்து சோனி இந்தியாவின் தலைவர் ஸ்ரீதர் சுப்பிரமணியம் கூறுகிறார்.
சோனி இப்படி கூறினாலும், உண்மையில் எந்திரன் இசை உரிமை மிகவும் காஸ்ட்லி என்பதால் சோனி வாங்கவில்லை என்று கூறப்படுகிறது.
மேற்படி ஆடியோ உரிமைகள் தவிர ஐங்கரனிடமிருந்து பல்வேறு (100) தமிழ் திரைப்படங்களின் டிஜிட்டல் உரிமையை சோனி பெற்றிருப்பதாக கூறப்படுகிறது. அதில் சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் சந்திரமுகியும் அடங்கும். திரை இசை மட்டுமல்லாது, கர்நாடக மற்றும் ஹிந்துஸ்தானி இசையில் முன்னணியில் இருக்கும் கீதாஞ்சலி நிறுவனத்திடமிருந்து சுமார் 800 க்கும் மேற்பபட்ட டைட்டில்களை வாங்கியுள்ளது சோனி.
மேற்படி பரிவர்த்தனைகள் மூலம் ஆடியோ உலகில் சோனி புது சக்தியாக உருவெடுத்திருக்கிறது.

5) ரஜினியின் இடத்தை பிடிக்க எனக்கு இன்னும் 20 ஆண்டுகள் தேவை – சல்மான் கான்
“பாடி கார்ட்” என்ற படத்தின் பாடல் வெளியீட்டு விழா மும்பையில் சமீபத்தில் நடந்தது. இதில் பங்கேற்று பேசிய கரீனாகபூர், இந்தி திரையுலகின் ரஜினி சல்மான்கான் என்று புகழ்ந்தார். இன்னும் பலர் இது போல் ரஜினியுடன் சல்மானை ஒப்பிட்டு பேசினர்.
இதற்கு பதில் அளித்து சல்மான் கான் பேசியதாக பல தகவல்கள் வெளியாயின. உண்மையில் சல்மான் கான் பேசியது என்ன?
“ரஜினியுடன் என்னை ஒப்பிட்டு யாரும் பேச வேண்டாம். அவருடைய ரேஞ்சே வேறு. அவருடைய இடத்துக்கு யாரும் போக முடியாது. அவருடைய இடத்தை நான் எட்ட எனக்கு இன்னும் 20 ஆண்டுகள் தேவைப்படும். நான் என்னுடைய இடத்தில் இப்போது இருக்கிறேன். இதுவே எனக்கு மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்கிறது.” என்றார் சல்மான்.

இது பற்றி இயக்குனர் கே.எஸ். ரவிக்குமார் இதை மறுக்கிறார். ஆங்கிலப் ஆட்டீறீ௮ஆஈ ஒன்றிற்கு அவர் அளித்த பேட்டியில் கூறியிருப்பதாவது : “ராணா படப்பிடிப்பு அக்டோபரில் தொடங்க இருப்பது உண்மை தான். படப்பிடிப்பு துவங்கிவிட்டதும் தங்கு தடையின்றி செல்ல விரும்புகிறோம். இன்னும் லொக்கேஷன்கள் இறுதி செய்யப்படவில்லை. ரஜினி சார் முழுக்க முழுக்க தயாரானதும் தான் மேற்கொண்டு எதையும் என்னால் உறுதியாக கூறமுடியும். ஆனால் இப்போதைக்கு படத்தின் ஸ்க்ரிப்ட் மற்றும் பாடல்கள் கம்போசிங்கில் தான் கவனம் செலுத்தி வருகிறோம். ராமோஜி ராவில் செட்டிங்குகள் எதுவும் அமைக்கப்படவில்லை. ஏ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மான் ஏற்கனவே பாடல்களுக்கு இசையமைக்கும் பணியை தொடங்கிவிட்டார்.” என்று கூறுகிறார்.
இசைப்புயல் ரஹ்மான் ஏற்கனவே ராணாவுக்காக நான்கு பாடல்கள் பதிவு செய்துவிட்டார். மீதமுள்ள பாடல்கள் கம்போசிங், சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் மற்றும் கே.எஸ்.ரவிக்குமார் முன்னிலையில் நடைபெறும் என்று தெரிகிறது.

Superstar to sign one more film?

When ‘Rana,’ which stalled for a couple of months due to Superstar’s health issues, is back on track here is news that Telugu director Puri Jagannath might likely rope in Superstar to star in the Tamil and Telugu remake of the Bollywood hit film ‘Buddah Hoga Tera Baap.’ The Bollywood version which had Big B in the titular role was a good hit up north.

Now the director of the film Puri Jagannath is planning to remake the film down south and the only name that he can think of to carry the role of the protagonist played by Bachchan senior is Rajinikanth. Well none from the superstar’s side have confirmed this news but there is a buzz from the director’s side that he has already spoken about this to the superstar. Speculation is running rife that Superstar might give his nod to this project, though nothing is confirmed as of now.
Rajini is at the moment busy getting ready to carry off being ‘Rana.’ Now if he nods his yes to the southern version of the Puri Jagannath film then we are sure the audience might get to enjoy some punch dialogues and the larger-than-life image of the central character.
Though we are sure that this film will rock if Superstar gives his thumbs up to this Puri Jagannath’s bilingual film, there still remains uncertainty as to whether superstar will give his green signal to this venture. We will get back with more interesting news on this soon!

Soundarya prays for Rajini at Tirupati

Superstar Rajinikanth's younger daughter Soundarya, accompanied by husband Ashwin, offered prayers for the good health of her father at the renowned Lord Venkateswara Temple at Tirumala on Sunday morning.

Talking to journalists after having the darshan of the Almighty, Soundarya said that she thanked Lord Balaji for the speedy recovery of Rajinikanth, who successfully underwent treatment for kidney ailment at a Singapore hospital.

Arrangements for Soundarya's visit were made by popular Telugu actor Mohanbabu, who is a close friend to Rajinikanth. When the couple was made to wait outside the temple as they reached the venue after the darshan time, Mohanbabu spoke with temple authorities and ensured that they had a smooth entry.

A large number of Rajini fans thronged Tirumala, after rumours spread that the Superstar was at the temple town to worship Lord Balaji. Some of them later met Soundarya and presented her shawl and a portrait of the Almighty.
